Brandon Gaudin Moving On

We hardly knew ya, Brandon. How did he land the Madden gig? Good luck to him. If he wasn't quite as good at what he does, maybe we could've held on to him.
 
Hate that he's leaving so soon but can't blame him. He landed a great gig.
 
I always felt like he wouldn't be here long because:
1. He's actually pretty damn good
2. When he was first hired, he had (probably still has) this website that had a sort of generic "broadcaster for hire" feel to it. And this was while he was employed by Butler. So I figured he'd be looking for the next thing to move on to while at Tech too.

Oh well. Sucks. Later dude.

Just hire ööööing Randy Waters, already. He obviously loves the place. And he's not moving on to the next slick gig.

The FSU guy is Gene Deckerhoff, also does the Bucs games. Pretty well known in FL.

Hate to see Brandon go---thought he did a pretty good job. Sean Bedford joining Roddy?

Because Athens only gets our (ATL) leftovers. Being as how ATL is a media center (Thanks to Ted) we will always get good talent but may not be able to hang on to them for long.
 
This is still a very important hire. "The voice of" any college program plays an important role. You don't want them to come in for a three year hitch. We were blessed with Ciraldo and Durham. Brandon did a great job, but obviously, he was not interested in staying with us for the long haul. You need someone who calls the game well, calls it in the way the fans of the school want to hear it called (not over the top biased, but, not neutral, either), and who enjoys the things like the coaches' shows and interaction with the fan base and donors.

We often think of ex-athletes for color commentary, but occasionally one can do play by play. I don't now whether Sean or Roddy could do that. If he wanted to come back to The Flats and leave The Golf Channel, Charlie Rymer could pull it off, in my opinion.
 
Wow. This sucks. We've had a history of announcers staying for a long time until now. Wonder who we'll get.
 
Great for Brandon. It sounds like he really has some tremendous opportunities coming his way.

Who will PJ skewer during the radio show now?

That was Mark Jones.
I swear he was on my flight from Miami back to Jacksonville after the Orange Bowl against Missy State. Looked and sounded just like him.
