Brandon Gaudin: The Voice of the Braves

great hire. its like swapping out Biff Pocoroba for Acuna. well done.

wait…wasn’t Biff a catcher? I’m missing something here. Perhaps swapping Claudel Washington for Acuna….or something. Screw it. Move on.

What happened with Chip Caray? There must have been some drama for him to leave the Braves

I spent it all on luxury watches.

On February 16, 2023, BSS & BSSE announced that Brandon Gaudin was the new play-by-play broadcaster for the Atlanta Braves, replacing Chip Caray who left to do play-by-play for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Gaudin said "I get to be behind the mic for the team I grew up idolizing. And the team who fostered my love for both sports and broadcasting."

Funny. My last memory of Gaudin was at Georgia Tech day at Turner Field in 2016. Used to be more of an event than just a free giveaway. Meet and greet, free food, etc.

Bally can diaf

The lack of alternatives and expense of watching Braves baseball is ridiculous.

Expense? You reminiscing about the days of watching for free via TBS Channel 17 with your antenna? Those days are long gone.

Whatever. I know this is a "do you even 80k" take, but there is no reason it should cost to $85 a month (comcast, DirecTV stream) to watch baseball in the era of cord cutting and streaming. Obviously the current model they are working with isn't working if they are going bankrupt. Big money is being left on the table.
