Breakout/ X factor Players for this season

Hopefully.

For us to be 8 wins, we need the above plus a breakout player at receiver that is at least 2nd team all ACC, a top half TE, and a DL player with 10+ sacks.

Do you think he starts at N? Going off of that, who do think the starting secondary will be? Barring injuries. A lot of new faces back there and I ain’t sure who lines up where.

New is relative. CGC did a good job getting guys reps on the defense & in the secondary

I expect:

CB- Sims or Watson
S- King
S- Allen or Brooks
CB- Walton
Big Nickel- Edwards

I'm going with RB Antonio Martin out of Fairburn, GA. He showed me enough in the Spring game to prove he can ball. Heck, bama offered this kid.

Also, Blackburn and Blackstrain. It's time for these guys to contribute and I believe they will.

Last, Sims. I believe Long and Weinke coach him up. It's time!

On defense, Charlie Thomas is my guy. I hope there are some guys on the D-Line that can penetrate the opposing offense. We'll see.

Lost me with the inaugural Money Down B.S, was like why is coach letting the P.A guy say this, and then we started lifting weights on the sideline. I knew he was a clown at that point. No turning back. Flash foward 3 years, not a damn thing has changed, except he brought in coaches that have proven experience . Should he get credit? Maybe. At this point it appears he is masking his actual abilities to coach and lead a team to win. Just stating my opinion I.B.B

If the offensive and defensive lines don’t make a giant leap none of these guys are breaking out.

Our all-world RB had to break tackles to get back to the LOS last year. Our QB had .2 seconds to read a defense. Our LBs had to dodge DLs getting pushed into them and our secondary even when they played OK had to deal with QBs who could stay in the pocket for a lifetime.

we have sucked and will continue to suck until our lines don’t suck.

I think the transfer QB from Clemson with the odd name will be a big breakout player, if they give him a chance to prove himself. I honestly don't think Simms can do it.

I think it's probably a tossup as to which QB is more ready. Whoever is better now should play.. TP doesn't have as much playing time as Sims but has had three years of development with solid coaching... We need Tchio and Quick to be good.

What would help the most: Vaipulu on O and Biggers on D.

Our best chance: Blackburn on O and Thomas on D.

It's not even close on who is more ready. It's Sims by a mile.

Instead of an individual player, GT needs the entire OL to have a break out year as a unit. In year 4, this group has to show progress. Especially with the additions via the portal from Clemson and Bama.

I agree. The new transfers have to perform much better than our previous OL transfers.

You know from 2020 to 2021, I think We overlooked the fact david curry not returning may have really ööööed the defense up more than we thought with regards to comunication.

Depends on how he does in the first game. I was willing to give Collins as much time as needed initially, but that first quarter at Clemson proved to be all I needed. I was there, and even the Clemson fans I was with were stunned at his ineptitude.

Why Sims? What happens if another QB balls out and leads the offense? We have pretty good quality depth at QB.

Sims has the most talent and upside. Collins brought in a QB coach, to teach. The offense is built around having a sound QB, at the helm. I really think Sims is that make or break for GT, this season.

Maybe the guy who has the biggest chance to upgrade our team is Keon White at DE.If he could be a real force the whole DEF would improve.Then we might be able look decent . Unlikely but a hope and prayer.
