Breath of fresh air...

You are so wrong about everything in this thread it isn't even funny.

Jeff is so bad I guess thats why other P5 schools have been trying to coax him to transfer.
What stat says opposite. His stats and his play thus far would say you’re incorrect. And if they’re jockeying for him and yet he hasn’t left Collins öööö show. He’s a special kind of stupid.

But hey. Keep enjoying the way less than stellar play mixed with a dash of hope. It’s paying off

Jeff Sims has atomic arm talent. He’s struggled with silly turnovers, staying healthy, and ööööty QB/OC coaching.

2 of those will hopefully be corrected with off-season moves. The third is just God playing with dice.

Add in the horrible O line play that forced him to run for his life.

This board doesn’t come together on much, but it seems we can all be in agreement that Jeff Sims is extremely talented and we have yet to see his full potential. We can all also agree that you are a complete moron.

Sims and Gibbs most times appeared to be the only legit P5 talent on our roster last year. This thread is bonkers

His first 2 yrs stats are almost identical to Joe Hamiltons as a passer and better than JoeHams rushing. Guess he was a bum of a qb too huh.

If we win a bunch of games this year, it will be largely because Sims progressed. Who are you cheering for here?

I also believe Sims has dealt with self confidence issues. He really seems to get down on himself when he makes a bad play and it can affect him on the next series. That’s somewhere else where I think Weinke and specific QB coaching can help him. He’s already healing praise on Sims’ talent to try to build him up. I’m expecting a big step forward this season.

Lack of praise has not been Sims problem. Lack of sideline coaching was more of an issue. That I think Weinke will fix.

I think would be best for all concerned if we can call it a day in this thread.

Sims completed over 60% of his passes last season behind our OL.

Glad to hear these comments from coach. Pnode seemed like he always was calling the offense he wanted to run, not what the players could run. Maybe he was trying distance himself from the 3/o, but even though we ran option plays really well and sims is a hybrid not a pure pocket we seemed to almost avoid using his legs.

If this coaching staff can win enough this year to survive, Sims has a chance to be really good next year. Good enough to make himself some money in the draft.

If the staff can’t win enough this year, Jeff will have to start over with new coordinators/QB coach (either here or somewhere else). Probably would heavily impact his money making ability in the pros.

Jeff definitely has some skin in the game this year. I’m hopeful he impresses us all.
He has a better chance next year with a new staff and scheme to learn than he will have this year. A new staff should, probably will, win more games and that will give him better exposure also.

I have to agree, Jeff is talented... I think what is worrisome is that he has NOT developed since he has been here. I think that is more on CDP! I also think that is why CGC was allowed to go out and hire a QB Coach and OC like Long. I am hopeful that Jeff puts it all together this year.

Like almost all QBs, Sims will go as OL goes. If D can play well and Chip/the OL can keep Sims upright often enough to make plays we have a chance.

SIms has to make the plays if they are there because imo they won't be there much due to young inexperienced OL.
