This. They are 2 different legal entities with their own boards. For one to provide funds to the other without an arm lengths contract would probably be illegal.

The endowment is also more at UVA and UNC.

Additionally, endowments are heavily regulated and carry tons of stipulations on how they’re spent. No school is just going to dump money from the endowment into athletics. That’s such a stupid thought.
