I feel U.S.C. definetly deserves to be no. 2 in the final rankings and I feel they are the best team in the country even though Lsu beat another overrated Ohio State team last night. Ugag beat a suspect Hawaii team and U.S.C. looked dominant over the big ten no. 2 team in Illinois.

U.S.C. did look dominant in the Rose Bowl and over the last few games, from top to bottom U.S.C. to me looked to be the best team of all during the bowls.

I will take the U.S.A.Today coaches poll..

THWG and THW the AP poll and saying Ugag is no. 2 ;)

USC had a weak schedule and they lost to a 41-point underdog. They beat a mediocre team from a bad conference in their bowl game. You only have their season to go on and they had 2 losses. USC at #2 is a joke.

Your telling me that Hawaii is better than Illinois?
No way!! Hawaii would not beat any of the top 4 or 5 teams from the Major B.C.S. conferences (Acc, Big 10, Big 12, sec, Pac 10 )

So kiss that ugager media (AP) voters butts!!!!

Hawaii not being good does not make UI good. I hate to say it, but UGA probably deserves #2.

Except UGA is #3 and ahead of both in the ranking that doesn't take into account margin of victory.
I posted on strength of schedule, UGA's schedule is #23, USC is #29, which is not a reliable difference, so you can't say USC has a weak schedule. (As a comparison OSU's strength of schedule was #53, and that's after playing LSU I think.) That's what I posted on, not sagarin rankings which is what you referred to (#3).

I don't understand. UGA is ahead of both USC and WVU in the rankings and SOS...

UGA lost to Tennesee and SC. USC lost to Stanford. UGA as much as I hate to admit it, deserves the #2 ranking.

#2 or #3...It makes little difference. In either case they didn't win it all and at this point it's only a posturing for next season, something that will eventually take care of itself.

Cant stand Sagarin. He is a complete PAC 10 homer. Look at the top 8 schedule rankings. 6 of the top 8 are in the PAC 10. Honestly, does anybody on this site actually believe that? He also finishes with Oklahoma ranked 5th and Florida 10th after their demise. Michigan really handled UF. Couple of turnovers at the goal line made the game look closer than it actually was.

You're falling into just what ESPN wants you fall into. ESPN Top viewing market is, whereelse, Los Angeles. Where, USC, is located. ESPN announcers will and are obligated to speak highly of USC because thats where the money is.

Herbstreit had USC preseason #1 for next year. WTF?

In regards to USC getting all the attention, this might be why:
2002: Orange Bowl, won 38-17
2003: Rose Bowl, won 28-14
2004: Orange Bowl, won 55-19
2005: Rose Bowl, had a close loss 38-41
2006: Rose Bowl, won 32-18
2007: Rose Bowl, won 29-17

These guys have been kicking ass and dominating CFB for a while now!

And, btw, TO HELL WITH GA!

USC at least won their league, and they were without their QB when they lost. I think they're a better #2 than ugag.

Well, I guess, something else to add, not that I really know what politics goes into coach decisions, but it was the coaches that voted USC 2nd rather than the media. So whatever media loving USC and catering to LA, didn't work there.

It is AMAZING to me that even Gt fan's, fall for all this media hype (AP being full of media types) and all the ugager stuff.

U.S.C. would mop the floor with ugag...As the one poster alluded to. U.S.C. has been dominant the last few years. NOT, just this one year. They have been as close as anyone as being the new Miami of college football the last few years. No one has dominated college football in a span of years like Miami did in the 80's and 90's..But, U.S.C. has been awful good the last few years...
