To be fair, we’ve been shut out as much in the last three years (including a offensive shutout by Temple) than in the previous 30, so we have sometimes struggled to score a single point. It’s important not to lose sight of how ALL TIME, HISTORICALLY BAD we have been under Collins.

Ok, so I'm pretty sure this thread is about being optimistic. If that doesn't work for you, I get it - there is no shortage of evidence to support not being optimistic.

But there are a few of us who have decided to leave the twisted wreckage and smoldering ruins of the last 36 months behind us, and march ahead with our heads up and fight as though we never lost a game. If that is not ok for you, then maybe sit this one out. We don't need to be reminded how steep the hill is every five minutes as we are marching towards it.
 
Our best game of the season last year was at MBS. Maybe we can find that magic chemistry again.

Funny things do happen in football. I remember a season, maybe 1980 or 1981, when we beat Alabama in Birmingham in our first game. Unfortunately, we lost the rest of our games. But, beating Alabama sure made me happy.

I was a student at Wake Forest in 1979 when the Deacs beat UGA in Athens to start the season. I grew up a GT fan so it was twice as sweet.

Went to that game and remember it well. Rushed the field after the game and was inadvertently knocked down by a tech lineman in the celebration. If I remember it correctly, and it has been a long time ago, it was David Lutz. Not sure today that we have a lineman that could knock me down and I'm an old codger.

Reading such levels of bitchassedness on this board makes me wanna start bullying nerds again. I think that’s the problem. Most of y’all haven’t gotten your heads dunked in a toilet in awhile. Oh also we’re beating Clemson so shut the öööö up if you wanna be a contrarian.
