Just bought tickets to the game....GT football saturday....Steelers game Sunday. Got accommodation in the Carson St. area. Never been to Pittsburgh before so looking forward to the weekend.

Anyone who went in 2014, appreciate any tips, must dos etc. for the weekend / city.

Hands down, one of the best meals I've had eating out anywhere ... and it was just lunch. May not be your thing if you don't stray from typical American fare very often, but I loved it.

Duquesne Univeristy's campus is a really nice place to walk around and, of course, Point State Park is another cool stroll (it's a good place to walk off that Primanti Bros. sandwich). Pittsburgh won me over a few years back when I was there for a convention - great city IMO.

I took my daughter in 2014 - my first trip to Pittsburgh.

I really like Pittsburgh - a great town - this year, I'll stay a bit longer so we can see/do more of it.

I cannot - can not - recommend the » Scare House « highly enough. When your worst nightmare wants a scare, it goes there. I also wanted to take a Night of the Living Dead tour (it was filmed there) but ran out of time. I was also going to stop by Bear Run on the way home to see » Falling Water « but it was booked solid so I'll know to reserve well in advance this year. We drove from DC so can detour on the way back.

Eat lunch at that restaurant across the river and take the ferry to the game.

I also check any city I travel to against the » Diners Drive-Ins and Dives « list so I can hit one or two.
