I was watching the show and didn't know about this before hand. Of course they put Buzz behind Hairy Dwag.

I'm glad one of the only real country artists on the show won some awards (Chris Stapleton) even if douche-bros like Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line did too.

Stapleton is definitely the only artist recognized by the CMA crowd worth listening to these days.

And meanwhile, Sturgill Simpson is nowhere to be found. Dude sells out 3 straight nights at Ryman Auditorium but is completely ignored by the country music people.

Sturgill is on a major label now and I believe he's going to drop an album next year. Next year may be his year. Jason Isbell ought to get more love, too, as well as Aaron Watson.

I'm not familiar with Aaron Watson but Isbell is definitely another outsider.
 
I love me some country music, but not really a big fan of the newer stuff, almost too pop music sounding. There are a couple good artists though.
