Bye bye

Yeah man, no way we lose back to back games against UNC and Duke and still have a respectable season. That's never happened before in the history of ever.
Lol. Exactly

We can beat Miami, VThug, UVA, and Pitt. I can't see us beating anyone else on the schedule.
What has Ugag done that makes them look unbeatable? Beat up on a hot garbage usc team?

It might be good for us to not go bowling this year. Whenever my golf game goes in the tank, I'll take a few months off and then miraculously start playing better.

The "extra bowl practices" are totally overrated in my opinion.

It's not even being negative at this point, just realistic. What 4 games on the remaining schedule do you see us winning?

Fair enough, I'll play.

I think we could beat every team left on our schedule. Wake Freaking Forest was like 15 yards from going to OT with FSU. Clemson will be tough, but we've seen this story before. And did you watch UGA yesterday?

On the flipside, we could probably lose to every team on our schedule. Honestly I think we could end up anywhere from 4-8 to 8-4, depending on luck and how we handle this disappointment. 6-6 is pretty likely, IMO.

For whatever it's worth, which may not be much, the FPI has our expected wins right at 6.0. We're favored in every game except for Clemson and UGA.

Since FPI is published by ESPN, it's predictions are much more accessible than FEI. Sagarin predictor also has us narrowly favored against FSU with three points added for home field.

This should all be taken with a grain of salt, I suppose. Even if they don't use preseason rankings, they may not take into account injuries. The most encouraging thing looking at computer rankings is Pitt, UVA, VT and Miami are all thought to be significantly worse than ND, Duke or North Carolina. Some of the strength of ND, Duke and UNC's rankings is from beating us, but not all of it.

For Sagarin, Pitt is #37, VT is #45, UM #49, and Virginia #84. ND is #13, UNC is #29 and Duke #32. Based on everything else they've done, I've got no idea how UVA played ND so close.

I want to see how much blame PJ takes for this

If the players would've done their jobs, etc etc etc.

that's easy. None.

Yeah, it's better for him to give a generic answer that "we all need to do better" than answer a question specifically.

Let's say he's asked about JT's fumble. How exactly is he supposed to not put any of the blame on JT? The 4th and 1 was a missed assignment inside, IIRC from the postgame presser.

Sure, there's issues that have led to that lack of execution. I'm sure what exact words you're looking for CPJ to say though, unless you're looking for Gailey-esque coachspeak.

:rotfl:

:rotfl: again.

All that said, it will take a herculean effort at this point to get bowl eligible. I think we can indeed win any remaining game on our schedule, but our chances of winning so many of them that we get a bowl are really low. We're basically flipping coins with everyone, and when you flip coins with everyone, chances are pretty good of ending 500

It's been a weird year in college football to this point. From what I've seen, everybody left on our schedule has looked mediocre-to-bad at some point. I've written GT seasons off a few times over the years, but the team has always managed to surprise me and get things together at least enough to wind up fair/average.

I've got to admit that this year feels worse, with the youth, injuries, and some sort of karmic balancing of last year's good fortune, but I imagine we'll find a way to beat a couple of the toss-up teams and surprise one or two of the others. I was thinking 8-4 going into the season; now 6-6 or 5-7 seems about right.

Virginia Tech gets Brewer back at QB before we play them. During their game this week, they said he gets evaluated Monday and is potentially available for their game this Friday night.

I really don't give a öööö about the bowl streak.

+1

Can you imagine Alabama worrying about a dumb azz bowl streak like this?

If a real program was having a bad year and out of it for a good bowl they would say "screw it" and focus on what is really important in front of them.

What has Ugag done that makes them look unbeatable?

5 stars, constistently ranked, beat us 13 out of the last 15, beat the team that beat the team that beat us, didnt lose to unranked nobodies.... And we play them at Bobby Dodd so that gives them an adavntage

Fair chance we enter the Georgia game at 5-6....:turbonoes:

And we will do our duty and lose to UGAg, securing Richt another year as head coach and ensuring that UGAg doesn't have a head coach capable of winning a national title.

UGA is as one dimensional on offense as us. Their QB's are terrible. They are beatable.

We will probably give them a close game like we do 75% of the time. I dont see anything in UGA that makes me chalk that game up as a loss at this point.

Until we actually don't go bowling and then everyone goes apocalyptic because CPJ lost "the streak." It'll be like clockwork.

I don't care how easy it is to make a bowl game compared to 20 years ago but having that streak is cool and losing it would suck.

I hate it when we actually have to play the game to know who's going to win.
