Caller on 790am this morning

We won't hire a Georgie grad as HC but we'll allow our current HC to hire a Georgie grad to be QB/B-backs coach?

you remember a guy named Mac McWhorter...didn't u support him? Ever wonder where he is from? Trust me, bohannon isn't the first UGA boy coaching here.

Some wanted Mac as our HC...I wasn't one, not b/c of the UGA thing, but b/c he wouldn't have been that good IMO. In hindsight...he probably would have been like gailey....but fired sooner. So maybe he woulda been the good choice. Assuming we hired PJ after him :)

Well, hell's bells, Bill Lewis was the former DC for the dogs.

You know how that turned out.

Mac would have worked out like Dabo's going to work out at Clemson or the guy at WVU. It's the same thing that happens in the business world. Companies look to promote a good employee inside first and the employee is then in over his head at his new position.

All speculation of course

I heard Paul Johnson has already accepted the Auburn job and will announce it tomorrow at a press conference...

I think you're exaggerating. How do I know? There is no statue of Pat Dye. The rest sounds plausible, however.

Yes there is. It is made out of beer cans and whiskey bottles.

CDK's favorite coaches of all time:
1. CPJ
2. Pat Dye
3. G O'L

I will be calling a press conference today to announce that I banged Selma Hayek.

The party line is Muschamp did the head-coach-in-waiting thing because his family really likes Austin and his kids really like the school they're at. If that's true, and it wasn't just Muschamp doubling his salary, then he's not a likely fit for Auburn.

I still think Muschamp would have been good for GT though. Within a year after he looked to be GT's coach, Texas is apparently ready to make him their coach if needed. As good as CPJ? I have no idea, but he still would have been a good choice IMO.

Honestly, GT really did need someone that had a "gimmicky" offense so that we don't have to recruit against all the factories for all the 4-5 star recruits. We could never compete with getting the same caliber athletic players. I'd rather have smarter disciplined players anyways :D

I can tell you emphatically the Will Mus was never in the mix at Tech. So how do you guys keep coming up with WM being a serious contender for the HC job at Tech?

You're also about as much of an insider to GT football as the guy who drives the Zamboni at Thrasher's games.

Re: Foggy is spot on!

Anyone who thinks a graduate of the University of Georgia will ever be the head coach of Georgia Tech's football team does not understand Georgia Tech history and culture.

I don't care who it is there will never be a UGA grad selected to be the HC at GT. Just ask Mac McWhorter.

You might think that is stupid but you are just not a real Tech person if you don't understand.

Go Jackets!

Well while I agree with this, he did get serious consideration. That will happen when you lose 7 to UGA and get desperate.

You are spot on !!!

Drad gave it some serious thought because of his friendhip with Muschamp but, he was reminded by quite a few GT people that this wouldn't cut it. He was wise enough to not risk the backlash he would have incurred had he went through with it.

A Dawg as HC @ Gt...NEVER !!!
