Came across a few UGA demotivators from the late 90's

Truth be told I was pretty indifferent to the football program prior to last year. I went to all the home games and cheered and such. Watched some of the away games with friends when they watched it. Didn't follow it myself. Just shows what a little Paul Johnson can do for you.

I also have lived as a fan only through the era of Gailey, which was upsetting when other kids made fun of you. I even had an old friend who was a Tech fan, who crossed over to the ugag side. I guess a combination of his brother starting to go there and the fact that, well, ugag's program was simply better then. But it's alright. It's always the darkest before the dawn.

Actually I should clarify. I didn't care about football at all until I went to college. When I started that at Georgia Tech in 2007, the football wasn't exactly what you'd call inspiring.

nevermind he is un-american

Hearing the name Chan Gailey makes me want to puke and I went to GT from 1991 to 1996. Bill Lewis became the coach my sophmore year when we were still dizzy from the National Championship and by the time I was in my 4th year (yeah it took me five) he had run our program into the ground.

The Bill Lewis years weren't nearly as agonizing as the Gailey years for me. It was quick and painless back then and we moved on quickly. We all kept waiting for Gailey to **** or get off the pot, and he always worked up enough gas to manage a smelly fart. In terms of coaching, he was constipated. It was agonizing dealing with him. And on top of that he was indifferent about being the coach of GT which made me sick.

It's alright, one of my brother's friends is still trying to pass his electrical engineering classes, and they graduated from high school in the same year. Actually, I'm not sure if he graduated, though he has gone for six years now.

So what you're saying is he was never really a Tech fan.

The friend part should be up for debate too.

Since no one answered the question, George "Goose" Godsey was the QB at Tech for two years following Joe Hamilton. He also made the best special teams play ever. As the holder on Luke Manget's blocked field goal against UGA in 1999, Godsey recovered the ball and ran it back to the original line of scrimmage. Because O'Leary decided to go for the field goal on 3rd down, we were able to kick it again and win the most amazing game I've ever been do. He was also a very good QB, compiling some of the best ACC QB stats (especially considering he was only a two year starter). The Goose is Loose refers to a 33 yard TD run the slow footed Godsey had against UGA. Interesting article I just found: http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1023234/index.htm

In his defense, most of us engineers cannot use grammar correctly.

It's heartening to know that prior to the last head coach, we used to beat UGA, and we're going to start doing so again. Most UGA fans seem to have forgotten that.

And we "used to" beat Florida. Trouble is when we are 3-15 against the Gators, and Tech is 4-14 against the Dogs......well yes.....fans forget.

Strange that you chose an odd time frame like last 18 years, so I checked and found the last 20 year records:

Georgia vs.

Tech 14-6
Florida 4-16
