'Canes wanted Jackets on Thursday

If you line it up East West you'd be even more ****ed. BC, Miami, Wake Forest, UVA, Maryland, and NCST. VT, UNC, Clemson, GT, FSU, and Duke in the other.

I have no issues with the way the divided it up.

WEST: GA TECH, FSU, Clemson, NC State, Wake, UNC

EAST: VT, BC, Miami, UVA, Maryland, Duke

I think this would be a little more even in the ACC's current state.

You missed the point Wes. He wants to draw lines in the sand (Literally) and say, this is east and this is west. You cannot under that scenario have VT in the East. Nor can you have Wake and NCSt in the west.

But you can draw a line in the sand north/south and make it work fine, if you move Miami to the north where they belong anyway.

South:

UNC, Duke, NCSU, Tech, Clemson, FSU

North:

Miami and everyone north of the 36th parallel.

Done.

Crossdiv rivals:

FSU - Miami
Tech - BC (who cares?)
UNC - UVA (they have a hard on for this game at UNC for some reason)
Clemson - VT
State - Maryland
Duke - Wake

I'd like something either plain as day - ie. based on geography - or, if you're going to arrange the divisions based upon competitiveness, rearrange them every season, based upon the previous season's records. While I'm sure there was more done when drawing up the division lines than simply ensuring that FSU plays Miami in the ACCCG, at the end of the day, I feel like the ACC's interests in football lie solely in seeing that game happen every season.

I must say, it all sounds like the ACC is helping Miami get going again.

What I don't understand is why the early season onslaught of tough games. My guess is that the ACC has dropped to the bottom of the ABC/ESPN pecking order and that early season good games is what they needed and asked for.

Yeah the ACC really gave Miami some easy schedule man! They have the top 3 ACC teams from last year in the first 5 weeks of the season. I wish we had a schedule that easy!

Noone would notice much or care, really. Too many "technical" folks round here. :eek5:

No ****, go check out the thread about how cajun is going to get raycom in Tennessee. THAT is a "only at GT" moment.

Re: ACC Realignment?

Bottom line...
Yes, I want the ACC South with fsu, miami, clemson, vt (as our cross div rival), and the best of the rest, every year.

Man up or get out.

BTW - The reason I think mia wanted us on Thr is because they knew that in 99% of scenarios, that gives them the preceding Sat off, so they get more prep time for us. It's not a revenge thing, it's a prep time thing. Revenge is icing.

BTW2 - I'm hoping at least part of the playcalling concerns of the clemson game are PJ playing the cards he must to win game 2, while holding onto everything he can for game 3, the last instance this season where an opponent has extra prep time for our attack.

My personal opinion is we have WAY too many people calling each other idiots on these boards, but suffice it to say that if you're doubting CPJ, I think you're incorrect... VERY incorrect.

GO JACKETS!!!

You are thinking about the old Miami and the old Georgia Tech. I mean they use to be very good and we use to be pretty mediocre. We are better than they are and have demonstrated that fact 4 years in a row. I don't look for any different outcome this year.

Go Jackets!

One thing is for sure, our guys aren't going in there thinking we're going to lose.

Assuming we can get a more realistic passing game going, if we minimize the mistakes I don't see why we don't win...unless Miami is truly a better team this year and plays at 100%.
