Catchall Deion Sanders Thread

I still believe it will be a hot mess at Colorado before it's all over. Committing to another $54M only sets the stage for a deeper mess. This looks like a Mike Norvell move or a Jimbo Fischer move. Both of which have better track records than HC Primetime.

If you can look past Uncle Lou's dawg-ness he has a pretty good take on it:

Deion drives eyeballs more than those other coaches. In addition Deion can use this salary to funnel money into the Colorado collective. So it’s a 4D chess move by Colorado.

That last sentence is actually a very good point. Takes a lot of trust but that’s probably the most straightforward way to get around any restrictions on the schools paying NIL directly (Title IX or whatever)

That would work better at a school with more millionaires and billionaires, like Stanford

watching maggots throw shade at a coach that took a 1-11 team, ran off a bunch of pussies, notched 9 wins in season 2..

Would be interesting to cross reference clown sack cuppers to deion haters. Bet you it's the same demographic. All the wailing & gnashing of teeth when he ran off shitbirds, some were way off base as is the norm for most of them.

$18M/year in increase football ticket sales, nearly $150M regional economic impact, 6th most watched football team last year, etc. What would GT do with an extra $18M in ticket revenue? We only got $7M in football ticket revenue in 2023, imagine if we went from $7M to $25M. There'd be some GT finance guys running out of socks they'd be so giddy.

When we do things to achieve gains, many whine that we play games at the Benz or prices are too high. Or it's too noisy, or the ushers' elbows are too pointy, or the wrong shade of gold.

Deion in Atlanta would’ve been absolute mayhem. Bobby Dodd would’ve been rocking like it hasn’t in a while. Happy with Brent Key though.

I'm absolutely convinced that Sanders would have been able to build the exact same roster here as he did in CO. And I will remain convinced till my shrooms wear off.

We’re too stodgy by nature. Unlikely to change. Key was like a comfortable old shoe. Fits GT well.
