CFP Week 2

Pleasantly surprised.. CPJ is doin work this year. Our offense has been unreal.

Wonder where we'd end up if we won out, made it to Charlotte and toppled a still-undefeated Florida State.

We'd make the playoff. no joke. But Pitt's kicker basically eliminated our chances....err Blewitt. but who cares! Let's one-up our 2008 season.

Eh, doubtful. We'd be in the 6-10 range, but we wouldn't leapfrog 1-loss teams. FSU would likely still be ahead of us, assuming we were their only loss.

Who cares beyond the top four. Just another stupid poll. A bunch of underinformed, biased, and possibly corrupt people at best just ranked some teams on suspiciously secret and probably flawed criteria.

They should just pick the tournament participants at the end of the year like the NCAA basketball selection committee. Instead they issue these early polls so ESPN can market some race to the playoffs ("Who's In?"). It's harmful because it encourages relative rankings after the initial absolute ranking, which acts to lock certain teams in (SEC West) and other teams out.

Georgia Tech should vacate its fraudulent ranking as a protest.

Vacating is one course of action...the other I guess would be to embrace the extra exposure and enjoy being listed as one of the top 25 teams in the country. Probably doesn't hurt recruiting to be on this list.

Nah, you're right. Let's not participate, maybe drop down to FCS where this isn't an issue?

Randy Cross mentioned TECH this morning then followed that up with we drop like a rock with another loss. We would probably have to win out to stay in the rankings.

Randy Cross' s partner on that show is a complete faux, pandering UGA homer. He is so fake it is pathetic.

Its not just another stupid poll, its THE stupid poll. So much so that it influences the AP voters, like how they Notre Dame dropped a couple of spots after the first Committee poll was released.

Either way, its still highly objective and a kiss of death as we head into NCSU.

I was on board with you, until you went back to the tired idea that being ranked is a kiss of death. Team just needs to sack up and beat a bad NCSU, ranked or unranked.

I actually think the CFP poll is better this week and AP voters would be right to emulate it.

I saw a scroll on ESPN last week stating they will use playoff poll for their little numbers next to team names.

What is our next best win after Miami? VT? Southern?

VT (don't forget, they beat Ohio State early)
Virginia
Pitt
Southern

In that order, though the last three are close. I think NC State is in the same category as uva and Pitt.

Both UVA and Pitt are better wins that VPI
