CG is total class

You use the term "rumor". When and if it becomes fact I will give you an answer. I do not believe on making statements on viscous rumors that were probably started by some uneducated mutt.

I think Tech nation is somewhat divided about the kind of personality it wants coaching at Tech. One group wants class as part of the coach's persona. The other group wants someone with fire in his belly, eyes and mouth.

Of the candidates, which ones combine the best elements of both?

would you still think that if I told you he promised a former SA a Grad Asst position and balked on it never responding to him?

would you still think that if he promised a former GT SA a positions coach spot if he got his degree, and then once the degree was fulfilled he told this person to buzz off

would you still think that if he promised a former football employee a positions spot upon hiring him, then once in the door after hiring him told him not going to happen?

Would you still feel the same if all three of these events WERE TRUE (which they are)?

now how do u feel?

I feel like his integrity isn't as great as its piped up to be.

33....you are just plain wrong. You also are speaking without knowing both sides of a story...assuming there is even a story.

My experience in management has proven time and again that people hear what they want to hear 90% of the time.

well, when each of these three issues comes from the person that was "wronged" I can agree with you I only heard one side.

But to tell me I am plain wrong is ridiculous. You don't know that and as far as I am concerned what was told and the actions taking by each individual after being wronged seem to lead me to believe they were wronged.

I agree, they do want to hear what they want to hear 90% of the time. And all the ex-focer's want to hear he is the second coming of jesus. I don't buy it and have heard enough to prove it. I haven't even mentioned the ex players that weren't promised stuff from gailey that said he wasn't a great guy to the players outside a handful etc etc.

Point is you can deny my post or my opinions you are entitled to it. but the guy wasn't as great as people pump him up to be.

You are correct. I should not say you are just plain wrong.

Better stated....it is plain wrong to take what one side says on face value. I did not mean to imply that your version of events stood no chance of being correct.

agreed, but like I said it was the actions following their claim that hit it more home....anyway...not need to stomp on a man who is gone now.

33 you don't know ANYTHING....WERE YOU PRESENT WHEN THESE "PROMISES" WERE MADE?

were they in writing?

do you have tapes of the conversation?

What you know and what you THINK you know are two different things.

I don't know you and I don't know CG, but when you post your BS about CG it reflects more poorly on you than CG.

if the person there tells me, why do I have to be there.

Besides....your unrelenting backing of CCG has done enough for your posting rep I don't give a crap your opinion of my posts. Don't read them.

Lawbee like all Dawgs you are worried about our next coach. I had several of my Dawg friends call me to tell me we made a good move and they were sorry to see Chan go. Some things you just cannot make up.

33, it really doesn't reflect well on you to be posting this garbage at this time.

I'll say this:
I never cared for CG's coaching ability. But shortly after he was fired yesterday he went to speak at Lunch Bunch and there's not a coach on this planet that would have done the same under the same circumstances.

Also, did you know that yesterday evening, Chan Gailey went to visit with both Chris Jackson and Steven Sylvester to implore them to honor their commitment to GT because they committed to the school and not him? Did you know that? I don't know of another coach who would have done that.

I would imagine he must have called his other recruits to let them know the same.

That's a man of integrity and class no matter how you slice it.

I did not know that. That is outstanding.

I am now officially a Gailey fan for life. As frustrating as his time at Tech was, at times, I will have a lot of fun rooting him on wherever else he is. Hehe.

That not only speaks well for the coach, it speaks volumes for the way DRad handled the dismissal.

I admit it was time to move on, but I really hate it that it didn't work out with CCG.

so fine

are you saying you have never done something good and bad in your life?

My point is people paint CCG to be like a man of pure integrity; and while he is a good person I am not arguing that; he also has had his share of not so good person moves too; with former SA's and SA's that played under him.

He isn't dead. That wouldn't reflect well on me if I posted this then. Otherwise...frankly this isn't such a big deal.

The guy isn't as full of integrity as people lead him to believe. And frankly what you say about sylvester etc etc may be as much word of mouth as some of you claim what I am saying is; do I believe it; maybe, do I think he physically visited them...NO I don't. Call them maybe.

Point is you believe what you want to or don't want to like an earlier poster said.

I choose to believe he is generally a good guy, but he isn't all full of integrity like the picture has been painted.

I don't know 33. I tend to believe stuff that I know to be true, and you tend to believe what you want to believe.

We can both believe that CG's coaching sucked, but anything more than that and you obviously show how out of touch you are with the situation.

One of 33's scenarios is similar to a reason (but not the only one) that Nick Saban ended up with our recruiting coordinator.

As for the Chan/Giff/UGA 'rumor', I was the one that called it such, but it wasn't relayed to me that way. Nor was it 'started' by an uneducated mutt. It was someone I believe to be trustworthy. The only reason I labelled it was because it wasn't firsthand information and I chose not to verify it, nor would I be able to find a published reliable source. That doesn't make it any less true.

Chan lost me when he kicked Father Mario off the sideline.

and what will you see if the new coach decides not to have Derrick Moore as part of the support staff?

and btw...directed donations to the FCA pays for that role.
