CGC can GTFO

Geoffff is about as embarrassing as it gets. No wonder everyone including coaches, experienced players left his program. Very disgraceful to hear tv announcers make fun of your coaches coaching ability the entire game. Lugenbill whom i don’t really like who played for Bill Lewis seemed to enjoy his uppercuts he threw all game at Coach Geoffff
Collins deserves all the criticism. However, Luginbill is still butthurt at Tech because OLeary wouldn't play "daddy ball" like Bill Lewis. Tommy couldn't earn a spot on our roster.

I think Collins’ condemns himself with some of the things he says that indicate he is simply confused on the sideline. The end of the first half situation is a case in point. If he had said that with a punt coming from midfield he did not care about losing ten seconds; he thought the percentages that we would have enough time to go the length of the field were against us, then ok. I could accept that. Instead, when questioned, he declared the ten second runoff might likely lead to Dabo going for it. That is just making up a silly reason that led to his own ridicule. And, it destroys confidence in his ability to lead a team on the field.

100%. Sign Chadwell now, don’t fire Geoff until the end of the year so we can save some of our money. You can have two coaches at the same time.

This would be a solid get. If we can't get him, I'd be game for Willie Fritz or John Grass. If Fritz can produce the results he did for a dumpster fire like Tulane, it could work for us. At his age he would be around long enough to fix this crap and segue this to someone who can actually coach. I'd also consider John Grass, who is now an Analyst for Clemson after getting screwed out of a job after going 72-26. Shoot, I'd look at Cronic at Mercer too - a unique, balanced brand of option not seen anywhere else. If those don't work out, perhaps we can bring the cook back from Waffle House when Collins goes there for his next mastermind session.

Absolutely. He has NO idea what he's doing.

You know what else crushes recruiting? Having you coach laughed at on national television by the announcers and the opposing coach because of horrible clock management. Losing and being embarrassed hurt recruiting. Recruiting isn't at a leak right now because coaches are focused on games and HS players are playing. Now is the time to cut the cord.

I agree with everything you said; however, announcing the firing of the AD changes none of that unless the new AD hires a new HC within one week. And none will be found 1 week into the season.

The best timing is to have them clean their desks after walking off the field of our last game, announce the new AD immediately, and hire the new coach within weeks.

It'd crush recruiting though to hire a new AD now and signal Geoff's time is over 4 months in advance. We can have the new AD lined up and even let them do some research on their first hire, but the announcement can wait.

Another consequence of CGC's contract forcing us to wait for the season to end.
Cause our recruiting is so good now?

Reading the posts after the game, you still see GoGATech and ibb on the Collins train. 1982Jacket seems to have lost the faith. Wannabe seems like they still want to believe.

I think for those of us who were willing to give Collins and the new hires one more year, a loss to the # 4 team in a game we were in halfway through the third simply doesn't provide a logical basis to abandon ship. As embarrassing as Collins was last night, it will be games against VPI, UVA, UCF, etc that will decide his fate, not Clemson or uga. That said, I do think we have to find a way to get to 2-2 to keep any realistic hope alive.

I was anticipating a 2-10 season, but now consider 1-11 a strong possibility.

Yep. Lugingill is a douche though. He never says anything good about the school he played at.

I can't see that unless this team is wayyyy softer than I thought. I think the running game will be much better against our coastal foes, we seem to be able to generate pressure now, and the secondary appears to have half a clue. There will be games that Collins will simply not be able to screw up, IMO.

That about sums me up. I WANT to believe still, mainly because he's not going anywhere until the end of the season. Last night's game management didn't help my wanting to believe though. I do see 5-7 wins out of this team though - in spite of him. I think we'll know nothing more from the WCU game, but we'll have a clearer picture of the rest of the season after playing Ole Miss in two weeks.

I have no faith that Collins will get us more than 3 wins, this year. Problem is, I'm not sure he will be gone, after another terrible season. Our AD, foolishly, through a crap ton of money to an untested head coach. This is beyond a Collins problem. This is an AD problem. GT sports should be stripped down, from the top, down.

He’s officially entered Pastner territory with me. The chicken öööö end of the first half started it and down with 6 mins to go and you run 3 straight to burn clock finished it.

Dabo in turn öööö on him passing all the way down the field. News flash loser ……margin of defeat is not gonna save you.

GTFO
I can’t even argue it. His explanation for it was also terrible. Followed by the late 4th quarter consecutive run plays. It’s time to move on.

If this season goes like the previous 3 have, he is gone and the AD that hitched his wagon to him.

If we learn anything from the WCU game, it will be bad.
