The CGE effect.
Earth to Chan: The NFL has changed dramatically in the last 10 years and playing field position and defense are guaranteed ways to lose because you cant keep up with the other team's 24+ points. Might want to consider the forward pass on downs other than 3rd and 4th.Chan is a good OC. He plays complimentary football and controls the game well. He'll get them more wins than the previous guy.

Hard to believe, but Chan might make Tua into the next Kordell Stewart.![]()
I'd take Chan over Dan Quinn.
Poor Dolphins
I never forgot how OFFENDED I was when his offense only scored 6 in the ACC Championship game vs. Wake Forest.I forgot how offensive minded Chan was.
This guarantees they’ll win 3 more games next year. The CGE effect.
Dolphins will go 7-9 or 8-8 next season.
Unbelievable.
With Calvin Johnson on the roster. That takes real talent to lay an egg like that.I never forgot how OFFENDED I was when his offense only scored 6 in the ACC Championship game vs. Wake Forest.
So basically what you’re saying is wait until you see what the next coach can do with his players? What is surprising about this sort of hire for the Dolphins?
He is going to the Dolphins. That team is in the middle of a massive rebuild. This doesn't seem like a bad move to warm the seat for a year or two. I can't imagine the hottest young coaches are lining up to lead that collection of offensive players. Now, two years from now when they have their young QB and some other pieces the story will be different.

It's such a strange move. I understand people saying he will bring a more simplified scheme which could help the younger players develop but aren't there like a million other coaches out there who would could run a simple offensive scheme?
/r/MiamiDolphins said:Just thinking about this from the perspective of a rookie QB:
Josh Rosen was labeled as a cerebral QB that ran a pro style offense and scouts literally thought he might be too smart to play football. He struggled immensely to pick up the offense and the responsibilities of the QB position in this offense, saying several times that he was being asked to do things he had never done before.
Fitzpatrick is a vet that has run every offense under the sun and even he struggled until about half way through the year where it seemed to finally click.
Bring in a spread-based OC who is going to run an offense that a young QB will be much more familiar with and easier to pick up on. Fitz can still start the season, but Gailey will implement an offense that Rosen and a 2020 draft pick will be able to run at a higher level.
