Chances against unc

UNC is the best offensive team we have played this year IMO. We need to keep there offense off the field to win. If we can do that, I like our chances.
that's one of the problems I had with our own offense, they score TOO fast. I was hoping for some clock burning from our offense.

The main thing that scares me is that UNC is coming off of a Bye week and has had plenty of time to scheme against us. I think that it is the same thing every week no matter who is playing: don't fumble and we will win. Fumble and we may not win.

Or they'll be rusty.

UNC defense is very thin. There starters are solid and they will be sky high with emotion. If we can keep them on the field with long drives they will wear out. (They have in every close game they've had) run their ass side line to side line, hang onto the ball, and above all make sure we pick up their punt block. It's coming every time!

Additionally, not sure of Yates's status.. but ide rather see him back there instead of Sexton.

Frankly, I am worried about this too.

I am trying to take solace in the fact that Sylvester Croom (MSU's head coach) devoted "practice time to the scheme before the season" (link). When asked in the post-game interview if anything Tech did surprised him, he said no.

Also on a somewhat related note, I think CPJ was asked this type of question in his weekly radio show last week and he basically said it's a misnomer in football for someone to think that just because they've seen the same plays before means that they know how to stop it.
Paul Johnson said:
The notion that somebody has seen us play five times this year so they know how to play (against us)... we've been doing this 25 years, they hadn't just seen us play five times. So it basically comes down to winning matchups and execution...

This issue will also come back around before the georgia game. I have come to believe that if we execute like we are supposed to, NO ONE can stop this offense. People have been saying that speed kills, when in actuality, penetration kills. This offense hinges on blocking, and when it's on, we are deadly. Now, with extra time, you can scheme to take away certain facets of the offense, but that just leaves you open to a different area like we saw against dook. This offense is so adaptive, which is what we will have to lean on in situations where the opponent has brought a good opposing gameplan.

Butch Davis said that even if Yates is 100%, Sexton will remain as the starter.

Ok ... well fine. I would really love to see Sed Griffen put his lights out. Good God does he bring it!
