Chavis to be LSU's new DC

Multiple sources have told ESPN.com that Chavis has agreed in principle to become the new defensive coordinator at LSU and that the deal is expected to be finalized later this week.

Tenn had a good defense while he was there. This is a good pick-up for LSU... in my opinion, which admittedly isn't worth a dime.

Will this have any effect on the bowl game or is the ex-DC still in charge for it?

Even if he comes in, is one week enough time to get a good look at a defense, evaluate players and get an improvement? No doubt the LSU congregation will be fired up over this, but I can't imagine it will make any difference.
