Chris crenshaw/ to hell with south carolina

We lost 9-6 in an ACCCG no one wants to remember. Many outsiders could care less about our bowl streak. USC has been "held down" because they play in the "toughest conference in America." PLus they are coached by the GREAT Spurrier.

Now, before you start flaming, this isn't my view or opinion. I agree with you in that GT would be a much better experience than USC. That being said, I don't think most outsiders feel the same way. The evidence is in the recruits he's stealing from us (assuming Crenshaw does indeed leave).

I see your point. It may be true that an "outsider" may not connect the dots, but on the surface, we've done much better job just in the last 20 years than USCe has. The ACCCG is what it is... an ACCCG. It's more than USCe has ever done, and it's proof that we can get there. USCe has never won an SEC divisional title in the 16 years they've been included. Toss in the MNC in 1990 and the ACC Championship in 1998 and you see the trend emerge.

Then you factor in that Spurrier isn't getting it done at USCe and is very likely to bolt after another year or two and retire to play golf. All the while we have one of the best up and coming college coaches around, square in his prime, and he's already turning heads with our play this fall.

Maybe it's me, but if I'm comitting my next 5 years to a place, these are things I already know.

USCe has never done ANYTHING- in football, ACC or SEC..we will always have more championships in BOTH of those leagues..sick of them..

Well, I'll say it. They, as horrible as everyone is making them out to be, have beaten UGA more recently than we have...Now, that is nothing for a recruit to consider - just saying - we can talk trash, but they probably have some bigger wins over the past several years.

I was just telling a Bama individual that Spurrier doesn't like recruiting. What he prefers is watching other programs make offers, look for weaknesses in the marriage and exploit it. It's a lazy recruiters way to do business.

I don't hear much about Spurrier's reputation to REVOKE scholarships from players that underperform.:ugh:

However, maybe you can give him credit for fighting their admin to KEEP players that do not qualify in the classroom.

Sorry I missed this debate all day....been working in the great city of Columbia in the great state of South Carolina. Fact of the matter is this is a dead end program with no real history or results. The only reason it has a "rabid" fan base is because there is nothing to do in this state especially in the middle. Boredom is a powerful motivator...so powerful it makes you waste time, money, and emotion on a total waste of a program. (Partially bitter due to the daily propaganda spewed at me about how this is the gamecocks year)

I know I already posted this, but it's just too funny to let go. ONE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM...1969 ACC TITLE. LOSING RECORD OVERALL.

But we were in an ACCCG just 2 years ago, and have been to 10 straight bowls. That is FAR more than USCe has accomplished and speaks to a stability in our program that is absent in USCs (and always has been). Further, USCe plays in the toughest division in college football, and for them to even sniff at a SECCG they have to beat AT LEAST two of UGAG, UF and UT in the same year - most years all three.

If it could have been done, it would have been done by either Holtz or Spurrier. And bear in mind that we're simply talking about winning their division.

To draw equivalence between our situation and recent history to USCe's is not even possible, IMO. But you are free to hold your opinion of course.
But.....it is the SEC. Even if SC loses, they will be playing Florida, Georgia, Tenn, Clempsen, etc. The degree of exposure is significant.

OUCH!

Exposure to what Yukon? We're on TV as much as USc. Pro scouts don't care where you play, they'll find you if you're any good.

Well it looks like the gamecocks are going to steal another one of our commits. He has declared the gamecocks are number one and if they offer he is probably gone. He will also take a visit to miss st. He is visiting GT this weekend. I really hate South Carolina.

South Carolina is a bunch of cheating pussies. Screw 'em.

Article that just came out on Rivals

"I love the academics of Georgia Tech and I have family in Atlanta. Those are the main reasons why I picked the Yellow Jackets.

Now Crenshaw did visit South Carolina this past weekend. But he assures everyone it was just to take in their home game versus the Georgia Bulldogs.

"I am going to Georgia Tech. That's it. I just wanted to check out that game."
