Chris Hatcher

Had around 90 or so in mine (1999), played briefly with Keith Hatcher, I was a FR he was a SR at QB and CB (Chris' cousin and default 2ndary coach wherever he goes).

I had Garvin in HS Algebra...I hear he use to punt on 3rd down! Now that is some serious Gailey ball!

I was also on this team...

Perhaps one of the greatest GISA State Championship games of all time, too bad we got shafted. Tatnall's QB admitted to me while we were at GT that he fumbled on purpose, with a smirk on his face no less.

Maybe my bias (went to MDS & VSU before I transferred to Tech) is why I'm so adamant about Chris Hatcher.

MDS CO94 right here. Hatcher is a fine man and coach. Deep down he's a dawg fan though.

Hatcher will be a big-time coach somewhere someday. Personally, I'd love for him to be at GT.

MaconGTFan: My brother was a year ahead of you and was starting C and LB on the '96 championship team and '97 runner-up. Best I could help Slocum was with the deep snap. That's a result of being 6'1" 165 with cleats on.

Glad to see there are a few Stingtalkers with M. Vullo training - probably keeps the debate lively.

I remember all the LB's as I was one, but the starting C on the '97 team was my year, maybe your bro got moved to guard, 2 of the LBs played guard that year and only one (lockhart) ever played center that I remember. Yes, Vullo was the man...I will never forget the duey decimal system.

I would love for Chris Hatcher to come to Tech, but I don't think we would roll the dice on such a young guy, but like I keep saying, I think that is the only way we would ever get a dynamite head coach, to get one young. I also think that is the kind of coach we need, a young gun. I'm sure he's a "dawg fan" deep down as are most people from the state of GA, but money talks and winning is all that matters. If being a life long Tech fan was a prerequisite for being coach we'd be screwed.
I've heard stories about Hatcher though, having somewhat of an ego, but what great coach these days doesnt?
