Chubb just blew out his knee. *** (nm)

What isn't funny: some kid's season is over.

What is funny: mutthurt

That second one never changes, no matter what the circumstances. And anything I can ever say or do to make their anger or suffering worse, I'll do with a smile regardless of whether or not what I'm saying is actually how I feel.

That's why I made the Munson-getting-Ghostbusted picture.

Just remind the Ugag fans that they were getting crushed with Chubb healthy too.

I've sworn off California bars. Going home Tuesday where they have genuine American values.

I love the Monterrey and San Diego areas, but you can have most of the rest. Most of my family has lived there and work took me there. I feel your pain (in my best Bill Clinton imitation).

Gonna go over to the golden gate this evening to get some pics.

Go check out those bars, you'll fit in.:naughty:

If he's going to the Golden Gate, I'd say stay away from the bars. The likelihood of stumbling across someone standing on the wrong side is pretty high and then the rest of your evening is ruined.

As a reminder, 4 ligaments in knee that stabilize it:

MCL: on side of knee closest to the other knee. Keeps the lower leg from sliding to the outside (away from the the other leg).

LCL: on side of knee farthest from the other knee: Keeps the lower leg from slide to the inside (towards the other leg)

ACL: back of tibia to front of femur. Keeps the lower leg from sliding too far forward.

PCL: front of tibia to back of femur. Keeps the lower leg from sliding too far backwards.

That really sucks.

I really hope he can rehab and play again. I know from experience that when you severely hyper-extend a knee like that and the ligaments are streched/torn, it is likely to happen again at some point.

If I were Chubb, even if I could rehab and be ready for next season, I would be reluctant to ever play another down of college football. He has millions of dollars on the line and he possibly just knocked half of his potential playing career off with that injury. It's almost a certainty that he will hurt that knee again at some point if he does play again. He should save it for the pros.

That's hard for me to say, as someone who really doesnt care for the NFL and who is not typically a fan of guys who are just biding their time in college before they make money (Clowney), but a devastating knee injury like that to a running back is one situation that I think the guy should just rest up and prep for the pros.

Rumors I am hearing is PCL, need to wait for the swelling to go down to assess surgery

Which is what you would guess from that picture. What I keep hearing from media is "at least it's not his ACL", but PCL is basically the same injury. It's just more rare to injure because the way the knee has to bend to tear it (vs. ACL which a hit to the knee from the front can tear)

ACL tears are frequently without contact - kinda like pulling a muscle it can be completely random. I had a friend tear both acl's (at different times) by simply running. The PCL usually requires some effort (like bending your knee completely backwards).

Wait for the excuses to come in as to why they aren't ranked anymore. Never seen some fans so upset. And now there's no Bobo to blame it on.

According to current Sagarin rankings, GT is actually favored over UGA.

That.
Is.
Crazy.

If Paul Johnson sets up a Go Fund Me for Nick Chubb, do you think he'll be anointed the nicest coach too?

Did you finally tell him he's doing it wrong?

Come on, man

As well as every other team on our schedule. Maybe we're not as bad as we thought?

Or Sagarin's computer is a dumbass?

Duke is ranked now. As is Clemson and Notre Dame, obviously. I saw the team (UNC) that we were up by 21 to is also getting votes.

We are playing like shite and you can tell by the exasperated, forced smile that JT displayed as he walked to the line of scrimmage late in the game against Clemson, but we are playing difficult competition.

Maybe we turn it around, maybe not this year. I used to fight people about Tech football.

Now I can enjoy Saturday's with my kid running around. There are more important things. And these "kids" have an opportunity for a Tech degree. That's awesome. So, I continue to fly my flag and hope for the best. But you can ööööing bet that I'm not going to run to my car after a game and preach about how a man should lose his job or how 20 year old "student athletes" should be kicked off the team for poor performance and post it to YouTube.

We'll leave that to UGA
