Clayton Powell-Lee... anyone notice this?

Agree, but that comment was an afterthought. The real news is CPL is the real deal and has 3 more years (hopefully) left to perform on the Flats.

Well done, young man!
"Hopefully" he has 2 more great years on the flats. We gotta start pumping out NFL draft picks if we wanna swim w the big boys again

Speaking of... this writer has 5 Jackets with NFL shots this spring: White, McDuffie, Carter, Thomas, and Eley.

Carter and Thomas being CPJ recruits, that about wraps up his contribution to Tech football. If they are drafted, that would be 16 of his players to be so, and 21 overall that at least got a cup of coffee with an NFL team. So, in 11 recruiting classes almost 2 per class.

With the exception of your top percentage of talent (5*), the ratings have long been a poor prognosticator of who will perform well in college.
Even the few 5 stars we’ve had didn’t pan out, except for Calvin.
Hobie Holiday, Steven Treet come to mind.

Make that 28 overall, or 2.5 per recruiting class.

McDuffie? He was like 4th or 5th best RB on the team. Don't see him getting more than a mini camp invite, and that's if he gets lucky.

I forgot to link the source, but that was per an article that I can no longer find. I would say Hassan Hall might get a look, but not drafted.

If you look back, we've recruited well at DB and have also taken in a few good transfers at the position. We should be good there for the foreseeable future. Now, to replenish LB and get the DL to make the next step up. If we can do this, we can be pretty decent on D in 2023. That's the group that seemed to improve game by game this past season. Their +/- was very good.
Down the stretch (and in some earlier games) the D played well enough to win most every game…with just an average offense to help them out. But the O was bad enough to lose every single game. A lot to be hopeful about for the D. Gotta get some killer LBs.
