Brondon Thompson breaks hand, again. For the second time in as many years, defensive tackle Brandon Thompson is dealing with a broken hand.
Almost exactly one year after breaking his hand in an altercation with teammate Matt Sanders during the preseason, Thompson broke his hand in the same place last Thursday, and is now sporting a club-like cast, which does not expose his fingers, in practice.

Thompson has not had surgery and has not missed any practice time due to the injury.

Swinney said Thompson will wear a hand cast for the first few weeks of the season, which will give him use of his thumb and fingers.
This is good news considering we are facing them in week 2. Sucks for them though, even though he will still be playing. I hate to see players get injured because you always want to put your best team on the field.

Fighting with a teammate was the cause of the first hand injury? Haha that must have been a sight to see.

I almost forgot: Thompson was very close to coming to GT a couple years back. Wasn't it his parents who steered him to Clemson?

This isn't really a big deal, is it? They'll put a cast on it, and throw him out on the field. I doubt this affects his playing time.

Bigger deal for a DL than it would be for an OL. Gonna be hard to tackle Dwyer if you can't grab him solid.

BT is a big part of there D. Unfortunately they still the Best DE in the ACC with Anquan Bowers ( true Soph ) Kid can cause havoc. Going to be another classic match up.

Sometimes those club casts help. Getting hit with one hurts more than a fist. I saw a NFL Films video with 70's Raiders players saying they would wear them even if they didn't need it.
