Wow. This is what i have heard from a lot of Clemson fans i know. They usually know there stuff too. They said a lot of speed options. I would be really surprised to see this. Would it work or not?

Yes, because it would negate our front 4

I don't care what type of option you run, running option against an option team doesn't seem to bright.

Will it work, eh, maybe at first due to surprise, but korn is no taylor or nesbitt and over time we shut it down.

Speed option is really nothing more than a delayed pitch. Hell, we ran speed option with Nix. DoubleHell, everyone we play runs speed option. BC did, VT did, JSU did, Duke did. It's part of the "Shotgun Spread" package that everyone and their brother run nowadays.

If speed option is something that we can't handle, then we're in deep doo doo. The shotgun speed option is in everybody's play book.

Speed option is tough to run against athletic DE's, because the DE is left unblocked. QB runs straight at DE hoping that the DE will take QB then QB pitches. MJ and Derrick have been able to slow play the QB in previous games (because their athleticism) which makes the QB indecisive. An indecisive QB on an option play = negative play (we know from our QB's).

I truly doubt Clemson runs any option on us. I think they will run a ton of screens/draws and short to medium pass routes to neutralize our advantage on the line and cover their weakness (OL).

That is the one thing they're NOT going to do, because it's what they've been doing all season, and it's what got Bowden fired. They're going to throw the ball deep, a lot, they're going to run designed QB runs / draws, and they're going to call about 4 trick plays, minimum.

That's their offensive game plan. Bank it.

Are they installing every offense known to man in a few short days? Changing stances, adding options, etc.

No, they're just using the parts of the playbook that haven't been used yet.

I hope they do run it. They're going to have a helluva time in one week figuring out blocking schemes against extremely athletic Dlineman, closing linebackers, and more importantly....
Morgan Burnett. Being the Rover, he's going to eat this crap up.

BINGO! We are going to see more trick plays than ever before. I see deep balls - trying to get interference calls, alot of QB draws, and QB roll outs to escape our DL flattening their OL. CU knows they cannot block anyone and they will bring out all the tricks in the hat. Merlin, David Copperfield, and the effen "Mindfreak" himself will share duties at QB. Hell -they're gonna have tinkerbell and her pixie dust flying around ~all up in heer~ and you will see that whore Dorothy with her little red shoes in the end zone clickin her boney little heels "saying there's no place like home-- there's no place like home" BOYS IM TELLING YOU ALL RIGHT NOW! THIS COULD BE A REAL **** SHOW FOR US COME SATURDAY! IT IS DEATH VALLEY, DEATH FREAKIN VALLEY.

If I had to do that towards our DEs all day that would cause me to doo doo in my britches.

Exactly. I don't know why this is a big deal, it seems like every team I watch runs this.

QFT.

That plus a number of handoffs to their RB's in an attempt to keep us honest.

I just hope our DC realizes it, and doesn't spend his whole time scheming against game tape.

Im Tellin Ya - Gonna Be Some Damn Sandlot Tom Foolery Out There. Freakin Carnies And Such...

That may have worked when Tenuta was bringing 6 every play, but the linebackers aren't pinning their ears back like they used to.

Yes, and much more!

Mr. Miyagi has been seen on campus...

I don't think it makes one bit of difference what scheme Clemson runs.

If they beat us, it will be because they want this game more than we do and have done a better job preparing for us than we have of preparing for them and I don't see either of those happening.

As the dust settles on the dissarray at Clemson, a clear picture is emerging: we are in a much better position to win this game than they are.
