Clemson

I'm worried about a power run game. I know Spiller won't kill us up the middle, but is Clemson's OL worth a crap? It won't take much to bully our DTs.

If yesterday's GT plays Clemson then GT loses.

Clemson has arguably the best d-line in the ACC. If our o-line can hang we will be in MUCH better shape than last season. We need to put them on the ground, make them lose confidence.

We need to stack the box on defense to help our young D-line and knock the crap out of Spiller. Force the freshman QB to throw into our experienced secondary. Speaking of secondary, they need to shut down Ford. Double coverage.

STOP FUMBLING!

MAKE EASY FIELD GOALS AND PATS!

If we can do that and get an int or 2 we can win by 20 easy. Mess up one, close game; mess up 2, Clemson wins.

Couldn't say it better. As a coach..no matter the win and margin you're always lookin to improve

If Blair can't get it done we're F'd (obviously no one else on the team is better) I wouldn't disapprove of an open tryout

Our DLine needs some improvement.

Clemson and VT are both Def Fronts and the way you beat them is to wear there ass's down like bama did. Run it right down there throat and cut down on pitches

Nesbitt has got to get better at running with the football, the key there is "with". Stop carrying it like a loaf of bread and protect it

I think we're better than Clemson. Last Year I didn't (I think they were more talented but in complete diseray) but we won anyway against a team playin on sheer emotion

This year we play hard for 60 minutes and put them on there @$$es. I don't want a player on the team with a clean uni

That's my take
Go ahead and dis approve (gth816, GTKyle and anyone else) but I know and don't think I know what I'm talkin about

Given how much CPJ was displeased after yesterday's game, he has probably scared the team enough that they will be focused on Thursday night.

Here's what I think...

If we turn the ball over 2+ times, Clemson wins handily; turn it 1 time, the game is close; we have no turnovers, we win handily.

What!! You don't know what the he77 you are talking about **%$@#*

...uh, sorry, seems to just be the nature of the forums today.

Just messin' around TG :p

How ya been man?

I'm very worried about the Clemson game. They have a bunch of great athletes and all they need is a little coaching. We better show up ready to play and the fans better show up with a lot more enthusiasm than Jax St. That was a crappy performance by everyone - players, coaches and fans.

Haha that was definitely uncharacteristic of you GTUGA. I've been pretty well. Yourself? Talked to pocket lately?:laugher:

Doing well, staying busy with work and play. Haven't heard much out of PW in a while --hope he's not doing 6-months-to-a-year for pulling a gun on someone who trespassed on his front yard or something.

Clemson had great athletes the last 5 times we played em. How'd that work out for em?

If their OL & DL are comparable to LSU's, we have a problem. If they are similar to Clemson's the past several years, we are probably ok.

Nesbitt is better than their guy, ditto for JD (even if Spiller is healthy), DM is better than their best DL, Thomas is better than Ford, and Burnett is better than their best DB, and let's not even mention CPJ vs Dabo, ok? And, Buzz would kick that Tiger clown's arse!

Probably, the best thing that could happen is they score first and get our attention so we are focused the remainder of the game. An offense that was not as good as this year's O that could hang 45 on ugag, will hurt the big orange if focused.

We will beat the $hit out of Clempsun, mark it down.

I am marking it down ----as a completely ludicrous statement--I hope we win, but I don't think that we will. They have superior athletes--eckspecially on defense.

I like our running backs, quarterback, coaches, and secondary better than their's. The O-lines are a wash, as are WR's, in my opinion. Their D-line and linebackers may be better than ours, but I am not sure. Games with Clemson are usually close. We play well on Thursdays with only a few exceptions. We are at home, our first big game of the year. I think we are the better team and will win, say, 31-17.

The talent gap is only with the 2nd team. If we stay healthy the whole game then our talent will win out.

Clemson is going to abuse us on the interior line. The question is whether we can avoid fumbling long enough to outscore them.

So beej you see this on recalling the days of yore --circa 1999-2001 ...45-42, 31-28, 47-44 ...maybe not quite to that degree?

Their interior line didn't dominate MTSU so that gives me hope that we can hold our own.

Alright. Mark me down. I say we win handily. Why? Go opposite of Yukon and you'll be correct 95% of the time when it comes to GT football.

Please. They had "superior athlets" last year too.

They've also got Dabo coaching them, so there's that.
