Clemson's daycare facility

At what point do regular students revolt when they see massive facilities on their campus that are walled off to them?

When they only win 3 games in a season where they were expected to compete for a conference championship.

I think the next step is when the football team gets its own faculty, its own classroom building and has a separate graduation ceremony.

I guess touching the rock had to get boring after awhile.

One of the stupidest traditions in college football. South Carolina playing 2001 is dumber. Must be a dumbass hick South Carolina thing. Why anyone would choose to live in that shithole of a state is beyond me - and yes, I am including Hilton Head and Charleston.

its simple. Either get in the game or get out. What we are seeing is the obvious separation of a handful of programs from the rest of the country, basically, soon enough, rendering many programs useless from the perspective of competing on a national stage.

unfortunately for GT, our school is just not set up to keep up...at this level today in an arms race...and if you or we say "nor should we" or "we don't want to" that is fine, just live with a level of results that mimic that

Horse dribble 33.

Nothing has changed for GT since 1966.

how is this different from any other 'industry' where you consistently see the emergence of the top 3-5 and the rest of the market is splintered. as we have removed some of the barriers between conferences and added playoffs to allow for more inter-conference play, it makes total sense to see a group of 3-5 lead the whole pack instead of 3-5 leading each conference as it used to be

normal evolution of a marketspace

The stadium expansion in 2003 was the killer. We spent a chunk of change and got virtually zero return on the investment.

If I remember correctly, O'Leary held the gun to our head to do it, and then he ended up leaving anyway after we made the commitment to expand. We could have spent less money, done something much more reasonable and we would have less empty seats for most home games.

We make more money on it, though. I haven't run the numbers, but although attendance hasn't gone up we still have higher dollars seats and alot more luxury boxes. Still not sure if it offsets the investment.

Also - I think a big issue is that these expansions are financed for 20-30 years but obsolete after 10-15. So when you want to make the next expansion you end up having to raise money to pay off the last one; not sustainable, unless you have a huge enrollment.

I am beginning to think that at some point in the near future I am going to be done watching college football. I love going to GT games, but things are getting ridiculous. May be time to just take my season ticket money and just go to a Caribbean beach.

Yea....the orange bowl win may end up being the highlight for me

college fb (and all all college sports) has swallowed the parasite ($$$) and it could only be a matter of time b/f it eats itself to death.

"Funny" would be a Clemson 5-star blowing out a knee running down the hill.
I was wondering about that when I watched the Notre Dame game. That hill was wet and uneven, and they were jumping down it pretty öööö fast.
