Clemsons win set us back 15 years....

We won a national championship nine years after Clemson won its championship in '81.

Not to mention what this does to the vale of our degrees...I'm dreading my year review.

It is very much likely that the ACC will pass the SEC permanently based on major population growth in NC and VA, which we own, badly outstripping Alabama/Miss/La/Ark growth.

Key is the continued dominance of Clem in the state of SC and FSU over UF. These seem to be very likely. Louisville is not allowed to lay eggs anymore, and UNC and VT should be forbidden from scheduling SEC teams based on a pitiful track record. Wake does a better job, sheesh.

Unfortunately the kingpin is us. Us holding our own vs the cesspool is the very reason this conversation is even occurring. The most important regular season game for the ACC is played Thanksgiving weekend in Nov. The ACC needs to do everything they can to help us win that game.

True that. Lobby for all 6 of our division opponents along with Clemson being required to permanently adopt pro-set offenses while our rotating Atlantic opponent is only required to run it on seasons when we play each other. Maximum practice time.

In all seriousness, UF/FSU is probably the most important. Both have been national powers over the last 10/15 years and is a benchmark for the conferences. Us being 2-2 the last 4 years helps, but FSU being 4-0 is a bigger reason why the ACC is passing the SEC (slowly but surely) in the eyes of the public/media. Clemson helps as well, but its more of a not hurting us more than a helping us kind of thing given how bad USCe traditionally is.

I just don't care about Louisville. If they help the perception then great I guess. But they can peace TFO for all I care. They feel like an SEC double agent. Overhyped and dirty.

Allow me to post Clemson's 2nd half drive chart from our 2016 game:

CU 3rd C35 09:32 Punt C42 08:21 Punt 3-7 1:11
CU 3rd C36 06:25 Punt G45 04:25 Punt 4-19 2:00
CU 4th C25 13:21 Kickoff C45 10:58 Punt 4-20 2:23
CU 4th G27 10:48 Interception G29 09:57 *FIELD GOAL 4--2 0:51
CU 4th C20 07:48 Punt G47 04:22 Punt 7-33 3:26
CU 4th G24 02:51 Downs G06 00:00 End of half 5-18 2:51#

And before you say they were coasting, having had a 20+ point lead, let me remind you that Watson was still in the game on the final drive, which they started on our 24 yard line after a 4th down. Here's that drive chart:

C 1-10 G24 CLEMSON drive start at 02:51.
C 1-10 G24 WATSON pass incomplete.
C 2-10 G24 WATSON pass complete to POWELL for 5 yards to the GT19 (Chase Alford).
C 3-5 G19 WATSON pass complete to POWELL for 5 yards to the GT14, 1ST DOWN CU
(Victor Alexander).
C 1-10 G14 GALLMAN rush for 5 yards to the GT9 (Chase Alford).
C 2-5 G09 CHOICE rush for 3 yards to the GT6 (Victor Alexander).
C 3-2 G06 End of game, clock 00:00.

For some reason, they were trying to score again. I suspect Dabo was frustrated that we had shut them down defensively in the 2nd half.

Not sure about that. Watson is a once in a generation player. He's fantastic. Thank God that Bobo and uga wanted Ramsey to punt instead of taking Watson.

I saw something that Watson lost 3 games as a starter. One of those has to be the game against us where he tore his acl.
