Do you guys think he will actually play QB or do you think they will put him somewhere else? I dont understand what philly is thinking. Any thoughts out there?

I feel like they'll bring him in and let him run the "wild cat" formation and mainly be a running back. IDK.

I bet he doesn't play 1 meaningful snap in these two years. A few years down the road...if he proves to have his act together...maybe he gets a shot at QB, but for now I feel like this is almost like drafting for a backup QB.

I think the Eagles must really hate McNabb to keep doing things like this to him.

I was just watching ESPN and Sal Paolotonio was shocked that people in Philly were pissed about the Eagles picking up Vick. He told Mike and Mike and they were like, "Wow, I am pretty amazed by this negative reception." Apparently fans started leaving the game last night when they found out that they were picking up Vick. Many fans have been calling in on the local radio shows saying they want to give back their season tickets and get a refund.

I have always hated Philly, now I just have another reason to dislike them. I don't understand the logic behind their signing of Vick. I can understand a team like the Raiders or the Browns picking him up, but not Philly.

McNabb is a big mobile quarterback who shrinks under pressure in a city of assholes that doesn't like him. Sounds like Vick will fit right in.

For ironic effect, I think Vick should start if Philly plays the Browns.

Michael Vick playing for a team with this logo? That would be disturbing.

apparently, McNabb lobbied for them to sign Vick, so I dont know what you mean by "doing this to him"

Eagles’ quarterback Donovan McNabb not only doesn’t mind having Michael Vick on board, but he actually lobbied to get him.

We'll see if he's happy in week 10 after he blows a game(like almost every qb does at some point in the season) and the talk shows are inundated all week with "bench McNabb for Vick" talk. I mean McNabb's status as the Eagles QB has always been a major point of contention and he's never even had a serviceable backup...now he has the former face of the league backing him up.

+1

I was just listening to Philly sports radio online to see what the folks over there are saying. They were commenting on how irrational McNabb was for lobbying for Michael Vick to play at Philly. Philly fans are crazy, this is probably the most enjoyable hour of talk radio that I have listened to for a while. If anyone wants some entertainment, listen to 610 WIP.

I think its a good move for the eagles. Now they have a back up that can make plays with his feet if McNabb gets hurt. Vick served his time and now its time for everybody to move on.

I think he will play QB, i would not want him on my team but, he has paid his dues.

I think Philly will have a designed package for him. He is perfect for the wildcat formation that everyone likes to run now. But I certainly wouldnt be against lining Vick up in the slot, throwing screen passes to him, putting him at RB...there is all kinds of stuff you could do with Vick at this point.

I've seen a few samples of the Philly grumbling on blogs and such. I don't think it has much to do with him serving his time, its about whether this move helps the team or not in a year whe they believed they were already positioned for good things.
