Coach Andy McCollum to get interview for HC!

Bryan Cook sucked donkey balls at Georgia Southern and Andy McCollum couldn't cut it at Middle Tennessee. No thanks.
Not only no, but hell no. But I have predicted the hire will be someone that no one imagined was possible. I now further predict the eventual hire will be someone that no one in TechNation is happy about.

Current staff are often player favorites during a coaching vacancy. Doesn't mean it's the right way to go. For every Dabo, there are 20 guys like Larry Coker, Randy Shannon, Bill Stewart, or Clay Helton.
Larry Coker won a national championship and 80 percent of his games and Bill Stewart won 70 percent of his games. Kind of hard to say they sucked. Hindsight shows that Miami and WVU admins had unreasonable expectations for their programs at the time they were let go.

That's an interesting way of looking at. Larry Coker's teams got gradually worse as Butch's players left. By the time they fired him, Miami was a shell of its former self and they've never gotten back.

Looking it up, Bill Stewart's teams did better than I remember, but it looks like 9-4 was about his ceiling and that wasn't going to fly after Rich Rod had them playing in BCS bowls.

Coker's first three teams went 12-0, 12-1, and 11-2. His final three teams went 9-3, 9-3, and 7-6. Yes, the talent went down under Coker but the competition also got harder when they went to the ACC after his third season.
