Love seeing leaders in the right context. Collins was made for GT at this moment in time. He, his wife, and family are made for GT. I hope he is as good of a coach/teacher as I think he is because he will have more talent within 2-3 years than we have had in 30 years. He has assembled a strong staff. He is going to build a strong brand. If he can win 70% of his games, he will be a GT legend.

There should be a push to have out of state alumni who are fans buy season tickets and then donate them to high school kids in the Atlanta area. Making young sidewalk fans is how you build them for the future.

With so many FCS games and other lesser G5 games to me 70% now is about 65% 50 years ago. Dodd never got to play The Citadel. We do it every season now.

Of course Dodd played the Citadel.

Looking at 1946 alone (selected at random), GT played VMI, Navy, Tulane, Furman, and bowled vs. St Mary's (CA). Instead of sulking vs. playing in the Oil Bowl they won 41-19. That was back when 41 points was a shitton.

Dumbass in '45 navy was 7-1-1 and Tulane was in the SEC so that was a conference game.

Dumbass, I responded to a poster who said Dodd never played Citadel, which was not true.

And what was Navy's record in 1946, dumbass? You looked up their 1945 record. So presumably you knew Navy went 1-8 in 1946, the year I quoted. I guess you hid that pertinent little pesky fact, cuz it did not fit your narrative.

Tulane may have been in the SEC, which is not today's SEC. They were a loser, still. We only played six SEC games. 12 teams in the conference. Not the same emphasis back then. So it wasn't like our hands were tied.
