Coach Paul Johnson: Straight-shooter tellin' it like it is (new AJC quote)

I admit that I don't keep up with coaching staffs like some on here, nor do I care to, but I like the fact that CPJ has brought in his former OC from his glory days at GA Southern, and that he has brought in his former WR coach from his days at Hawai'i (who also recruits the west coast). I also like that he has brought his ST coach from Navy and seems to have made an immediate effort to address the shortcomings in the defensive backfield.

I have no opinion one way or the other on Wommack. Don't really know him. He seems to have bounced around a little too much for my taste, but he's had his share of accomplishments.

Bohannon confuses me. I won't hold his alma mater against him, but he was a WR and has coached WRs and DBs exclusively. I'm not sure how that translates into QBs and B-Bs.

I'm absolutely giddy at what Paul Johnson's done so far.

Today's giddy moment: It's finally sinking in that we now have two offensive line coaches.

Boy did we need that this year.

clapper, find any assistants who haven't bounced around a fair amount. With a few notable exceptions ithat's how the coaching profession is and in fact, is how coaches broaden themselves.

In the savannah Ga paper, a long time ago, there was a quote from one of the players about screwing something up in practice.

The reporter asked what happened when the player did something wrong in practice at GSU what would happen, the player said something to the effect of...

"..I usually hurry and get back to position and find Coach Johnson to make sure he didn't see me screw up..."

Think Ross. Folks.

Ross would notice if your freakin' shoelaces were not the same length on the left and right side and give you ten ways the defense could use that against you.

I just hope the players are open to CPJ's scrutiny and don't rebel the way they did against Ross.
