Coach Richt

I would like to know what exactly he said too at halftime. Whatever it was, though, I'm sure it sounded much different than CPJ going into halftime when we blew out MSU.

To my recollection: Holly first asked him about the body language of the defense looking down, and Richt responded something like "so are checking out my quarterback's body language." He was being a smart butt. She was not even talking about Stafford she was talking about the defense looking dejected after giving up 5 scores in the first half. You could tell she was not happy with the sexual refence Richt seemed to making. Then she asked about the line play, and he responded something like. We are getting our ass kicked. I am paraphrasing, because I do not remember it exactly. Long story short, he looked like a pompous jerk, and he will probably be slapped for the sexual remark. I even had UGA fans today telling me they were embarrased about the body language remark, and they could not believe Richt resonded that way. I know it was the heat of them moment, but you would think he was more polished than that.

I believe he said when asked what changes the Dawgs needed to make, "we've got to get after their ass."

Go to the 1:18:50 mark on ESPN360 to see interview for yourself.

Yes...he was a bit perturbed and should be...he was down 31-0.

However, there was no sexual inuendo going on at all and most questions were asked and answered with your basic "down at halftime" answers.

He never said "we are getting our ass kicked."

He said "We have to play hard...and turn it over...not get penalties..."....later..."we got to block better"....then "we got to get after their ass."

As I said...I hate UGA as much as anyone. I just think some of you are off base.

However...when you guys find the perfect person out there...just let me know. I only know of one in our history.

Of course...I also have a different view as some close friends of ours (that hate UGA btw) know him well and have known him since he first got married. They have spent many weekends at each others homes since long before Coach Richt was famous and had money. They say nothing but good things about him...and then they pull for him to lose!!

I am not defending nor condemining Richt. I simply made a statement about his comments. He may be a good guy, buy he is just like Bobby at FSU. He learned under the best on how to turn your head on many issues. He is there to win football games, period. He obviously does not care about the character development of his players, and is not paid to do so. Football is a business, and the business is winning. This is the mindset of many programs today. I could not coach that way, because I would care to much about my players to let such actions go unpenalized (as Richt has let slide many times). He feels the pressure to win, and to do so he needs his best players on the field with or without issues with the law. I just am glad I do not have to worry about it, because I am a Yellow Jacket, and do not have to worry about PJ having problem dealing with disciplinary problems. He will nip them immediately. If Richt can live with himself at night, then more power to him. I do not know the man, and that is his own issue. I only care about Tech, and the way we handle issues. I am very proud to be a Tech fan, and the way we push character on our football team.

Having thought about it, my problem is less with him and (here's a surprise) more about the UGA fans and how they put him on a pedestal. The fact is that he's NOT a great coach, he's not a better person than everyone else, and at times he says and does stupid things, just like most of us do. The worst knock on him is that he lets his team run the team too much and that he instructed them to get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on purpose in a scene that easily could have turned into a bench-clearing brawl. If I was a UGA fan, I would be getting pretty sick of all of these distractions and seasons with 1-2 disappointing losses, especially since when that disappointing loss comes, it tends to be an absolute jaw-dropping ass whipping like last night. Hopefully PJ and the Wreck can be the beneficiary of one soon.

I agree with you NATSman. I have a sense of pride that comes when I put on a Tech shirt and what it represents. UGA has what they want as a coach and organization. More power to them. It is more of a pro mindset.
I am very happy with our Coach, and the way we want to represent at Tech. GO JACKETS!

Am I the only one who read this reply, and thought, "Porn? What does Richt have to do with Porn?"

Richt is a douche. Everyone in the country knows it. He'll be fired within the next 3 years, and we'll be back to Donnon Era performance by UGA.

I'm tempted to bet you on this but I'm already in the hole to you on coaching firings. :hsugh:
