Coaches Hot Seat predicts us 11-1

I think we'll beat FSU. I can't imagine they'll even have a team left by the time we play them, unless the Florida Penal System has a stadium they can play in. I don't see us going 11-1 though. We've got a very long, very grueling stretch in the middle of our season and if lose a few key personel, we're in trouble.

Dude I love your smart @ss, sarcastic posts. They make me smile through out the day at work.

Gotta admit though, certainly is possibly that we won't lose key personnel and stay strong throughout the season. It isn't the most likely scenario, but it's still great that such a thing is open to us in an optimistic sense.

p.s. I see us losing to FSU and beating VPI also, but we'll lose another game or two. Our lines are too weak/our depth too young.

Our O-line can't be weaker or thinner than last year in which we went 9-3. I think we'll be better enough to at least pull out one more win. I see our first 10 win season in a long time coming up.

Easy on this topic (although I love that our program is getting attention)! Lofty expectations can turn a solid 9-3 season into disappointment.

IMO, until we have a legitimate backup QB, this type of season (10+ wins) is out of the question. The QB will simply take too many hits and will ultimately be unable to play for a game or two.

Its funny how most of us Tech fans have grown to assume zero qb development. I wonder if Joe Hamilton would have performed any better than Jaybo if he was forced into action his freshman year. I seem to remember him sucking balls early in his career.

I think Jaybo will improve incrementally thoughout his tenure at GT. He may even spike this year as it is common between 1st and 2nd year players. Lets wait and see before we label Shaw as not a "legitimate backup."

This is really what worries me. If we lose Nesbitt for any meaningful amount of time, my confidence in this offense goes dramatically down. Not because Jaybo can't execute. He seems to have a good grasp of the offense and reads, but a smart defense could simply take the dive and pitch and force Shaw to beat them, and I'm not certain that he could. Hopefully those run n shoot plays are in the players homemade playbooks, because that will really crack open some games.

Even during the Chan years, I went into each year optimistic for an undefeated season. I'll be disappointed any time we lose. I do get your point though.

If you don't get disappointed with 9-win seasons, you don't get to 10-win seasons.

There is no team on our schedule that we can't beat. However, that being said, its hard to get up for every single game every single week. I hoping for 13-0 but realize that is not probable.

Yeah, we're good enough fundamentally to go 11-1. But can we avoid days like Gardner-Webb, days like UNC, and days like LSU? G-W was the most painful. I say we have just one of those days this year instead of several. Go optimists! PMA! PMA! But seriously, year two should be fundamentally better and peripherally (e.g., special teams) better, no?

Don't think about it as Gardner Webb; think about it as beating the bulldogs. It'll make it easier for you. :D
