I think even Beeware knows that this year isn't a reflection of Gailey's ability to recruit. As I've said before, we had to lose some. It's inevitable during a coaching change. These players had originally signed to play with GOL, Gailey didn't have a full staff yet, and there was all the bad press. None of that Gailey's fault.

Beeware, now that I think about it, what about the recruits that DIDN'T originally sign with Tech but decided to follow Gailey or his assistants here? I haven't heard any mention of those?

And please, no "witty" one liners, comments, or insults. Please contribute to the discussion for once.

I'm aware of that. Beeware always mentions that point in his posts about CG...that guys de-committed after in-home visits from CG. I don't think it was nearly as bad as he makes it out to be, so I want to hear the names of who de-committed. My guess is that it was 1 or 2 guys, total.
 
THANKS Ramblin' Buzz for the guesstimate about when Fall Practice starts. Early in August is MUCH closer than Aug. 31st when we play Vandy. The season is (in a sense) now just THREE months away in my mind!!

BTW, when will all the college football mags hit the stands?? I'm guessing that Athlon will have an ACC issue. That will probably be about the best look at our conference from any of the national magazines, right??? ALSO BTW, I have yet to hear of any Georgia Tech magazines. I'm constantly hearing of the UGA, Alabama, Auburn, etc magazines that come out monthly. Do you guys think it's econonomically feasible for someone to put one together. I know I'D buy it!

Look for the mags like Athlon and Lindy's to hit the newsstands at the end of May or 1st of june.

No one here is down on Coach O. As I stated in the initial posts, I am grateful for everything he brought to the program. He took a poor program and elevated it to a good program. I wish him the best.

However, your bashing of Tech's current Head Coach is unfounded. At least give the man a chance. You have stated many unsubstantiated 'facts' that slander him (he lost recruit after recruit, yet you have yet to name the recruits). And as far as his practices went this spring, I heard nothing but good things.

Football Coaching as a career is not a steady job. Coaches and assistant Coaches come and go. It is very rare to have someone like B Bowden at FSU that stays for twenty some-odd years. The fact that Gailey chose to bring in some of his own selections is his right. I may have done the same thing in his shoes.

Bottom line here is that your evil words are hurting Tech players and the Tech reputation. Let the man Coach for a time. I believe that cream rises to the top. If this Head Coach and coaching staff is not 'cream', then time will tell. Until then, lay off!!!! You sound more like a UGAG fan on here just to stir the pot!

GT has somewhat of a periodical in the Alumni Publication that has a slick cover and articles on a # of GT topics. Also, the RamblinWreck is published, but has a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggg lead time. Any GT athletic information in either publication is likely to be a bit dated. Believe it or not, you are more likely to be kept up to date using boards like stingtalk and the hive. Granted, there is a lot of innuendo, rumor, and unfounded conjecture on internet boards, but is that what they are for?

One more thing--ramblinwreck recently put the postspring prospectus on their website--www.ramblinwreck.com. It has a depth chart as well as info. about the team heading into the fall. That and discussion on the diff. boards should keep you going until August.

Thanks GT98. As far as the publications go, I'd just like to have something in magazine type form so I don't always have to stare at this monitor, you know?? How would I get a copy of the RR magazine?? I'm not an alumni (but a HUGE fan for life!) In fact, I'd probably be willing to give to the AA just like I went there

Also does anyone (a fan perhaps) publish a magazine or something on GT football?? Lotsa fans of UGA, Auburn, Alabama, Tenn, put together fan magazines with information, profiles, etc. Why shouldn't GTech fans do the same?? I know our fan base isn't nearly as broad, but our love and loyalty for our team is stronger than ever! If nobody puts together such a publication, why the heck not?? I know just about everyone here would buy it!
 
Everyone is entitled to their opinion...that is what is great about this board and what makes the hive so lousy. Just remember, contrary to the belief by some on this board, one does not have to be a Braine-kisser, or mindlessly heap praise on 'Buck' before he has even coached a division 1 college game, to be a TECH fan.
Therefore, you Braine-kissers can tolerate that black eye that was cast upon TECH with the outrageous treatment of our previous staff....and you can accept the mediocrity of the new coaching selection.....but, you cannot be surprised when he turns out to be a lot closer to Bill Lewis than Bobby Ross or George O'leary...because you have been forewarned.

Typical response, say the same things over, say we all have an opinion, black eye on the program, Braine is bad, use 5000 smileys...yadda yadda yadda. But still have not said anything of substance.

The only black eye was caused by O'Leary. And you still have not given anyone any reasons as to why you feel the way you do. I don't expect you to anymore, though. You don't have any.
