Coaches Poll Out

Let's play "Which week will be top 25?" I think it would have to be a 3-0 start after beating Ole Miss.

Of the ACC teams, I predict Pitt will not be top 25 at the end of the year.

If we look really good and are 2-0 we will be ranked for a top 25 ACC SEC macyhup

Texas ranked? Based on what? And ND at #5 is a stretch.
Croots.

Seems the coaches don't think nearly as much of Ole Miss as the average poster here seems to think.

Looks like we have 5/25 on our schedule, with UCF, UNC and FSU also "getting votes." But did we dodge a bullet with no ND, NC State or Wake?

And can someone please to explain how Wake ööööing Forest has a football program which is so much better than Tech's???

It’s simple, WF has a competent head coach.
Could be.

Could also explain how Utah is ranked 8 (!), even though they NEVER get any five stars, rarely get four stars, and mostly have three stars. Their recruiting classes are never ranked very high. But Kyle Whittingham has won 144 games, and they won the PAC-12 and went to the Rose Bowl last year. And every home game is a jam-packed sellout, even though they are a city school in the state capital, their stadium seats 50-something thousand, and they prolly have only the second largest fanbase in their state (sound familiar - I mean other than the jam-packed sellout part?).

Xs and Os over Jimmies and Joes???

Good coaches develop the talent they get and they actually know what to do with them on game day.

We would be at least 4 to 5 wins more the last 3 years with him.
Maybe. I would've simply rather had Wake's OC over P'naude than Clawson instead of Collins. I think 2019 was dead on arrival but we would've seen a game or two gain in the subsequent two years from the offense alone

Their entire OL is back. You could put a cardboard cutout behind that kind of line (not that we would know) and win 7 or 8 (assuming their D doesn't fall apart).

Not necessarily disagreeing with you but guessing why they got so much respect.

Coaching + coaching = better coaching. Wake Forest returns 9/11 starters including their entire OL + Hartman at QB. Wake was #5 in the country last year at 41.2 ppg. Does that help clear it up?

Hate to break it to you, Wake has been a better program over the last 7 years compared to GT since the 2014 Orange Bowl:

2015:
GT - 3-9
Wake - 3-9

2016:
GT - 9-4
Wake - 7-6

2017:
GT - 5-6
Wake - 8-5

2018:
GT - 7-6
Wake - 7-6

2019:
GT - 3-9
Wake - 8-5

2020:
GT - 3-7
Wake - 4-5 (Duke’s Mayo Bowl loss)

2021:
GT - 3-9
Wake - 11-3

Seems we were right with them until 2019. I wonder what changed?
