I know CDP is a popular target but honestly he, along with the rb and wr coaches, have done a good job. CBK has not earned his pay nor lived up to his reputation. The complete defensive staff, with the ST staff, is garbage. CGC is a horrible game manager. If changes are not made on the defensive side then 3 win seasons will be the norm until Collins contract runs out.

The positive on Collins is he can recruit and he can improve his in game decisions.

He certainly couldn't make worse in game decisions. Going for it on 4th and 19 after conceding the punt with the 3rd down play was the most clownish öööö I've seen in a football game period. If I was QB I would act confused, take a delay of game, and pray the coach changed their mind. It was that ööööing stupid.

Someone posted our offensive FEI rankings under this staff and we are something like 76th this year? I don't know that it's so clear cut that the offensive staff is doing a "good" job, but they are certainly outshining the defense anyways.

Good enough to win if the defense was close to equal.

Our offense is marginally better then our defense. Neither one play well with any level of consistency. The only difference IMO are the RBs. They are far and away the best position group on the team, which helps give the edge to the offense. Neither side of the ball keeps our opponents up at night.

I'm not sure that should be good enough to keep most of them employed here. I think it would be a mistake to take the approach of blaming either the offense or defense and keeping the other around. The strongest argument for keeping Pdude seems to be that he's not in charge of the defense and that really is not enough. Keep the RB guys at least, fire the rest.

I think we can all agree with a decent O line it wouldn't be in question. Key needs to go with the defense staff.

I posted this on another thread, but I will post it here too ---- If you look OBJECTIVELY at this season, it should be easy to say that at this point in the season, we really we could have and IMO should have only lost one game (Pitt), regardless of our crappy defense. P'Nut doesn't have a clue what plays to call when. In the first half, he seemed to have it going, and he was really only let down by the defense, but we had a chance to move down the field and score again before halftime, and yet out of the blue, he went back to the same predictable plays that have been his problem in all the other games --- running off tackle in spite of a line that can't open up holes. Earlier, he had Yates throw pitches, pass effective screens, pass down field, etc, etc. Why not continue to run the same plays that had worked so far in the game. And then unaccountably, he continues that do-nothing trend in the 3rd quarter, and I don't think we ever saw another pitch in the rest of the game. When something is working and producing positive results, then why not continue doing that? And also in the second half, once again we see him feeling the need to call a 3rd down timeout, because he obviously didn't have a play in his mind that would, or at least might, work. And then, again as usual, the eventual 3rd down play has an offensive penalty, thus putting an end to our chances. Why doesn't he have a few, or even just one, play in his mind that he is ALWAYS ready to call, never needing chaos on the field and the ensuing time out? He simply doesn't have a clue, and by extension, that MUST extend to Collins. There is no excuse whatsoever for the failure of this season, and it will never get any better, if they both don't wake up, or if Collins doesn't get rid of P'Nut, even if the D continues to fail us. When the D is suspect (and that's putting in mildly), then don't let thing get so far that you end up having to rely on them. TAKE CHARGE and SCORE on every drive. or at least put yourself in the position of having a real chance to score.

How has CDP done a good Job?

You are delusional.

The best offense would still lose with our defense. It is that bad.
