Since we fired CCG between the last game of the season and our bowl game, JT was designated as coach for the bowl game. Since PJ has been named, is JT still up for the bowl or will PJ take over immediately?
Another question:
Why do colleges hire & fire during this time frame? Why doesn't NCAA say the coach that brought them to the bowl stays on unless he resigns?
The way it's going now seems somewhat confusing.
Reminds me of the old saying "dance with the one that brung you".
Not defending CCG.
Not trying to knock JT out of his HC job.
Just wondering why we don't wait until after the bowls are behind us to start firing & hiring.

No, PJ has said he won't be involved in the bowl game, beside cheering for the Jackets.

Conventional wisdom says it's classless to fire a coach before the end of the regular season. (Sometimes it's justified, however) No NCAA rules exist about when and how a coach can be hired or fired.

Right now up until a few days before the bowls start is a prime recruiting period. It's vital for new coaches to start recruiting now, or you'll give up almost a whole recruiting class as we did with Gailey back then.
