We prescribed ourselves a heavy dose of Georgia Tech buzz for nine months, playing right into the ACC Coastal Division’s subterfuge. It was the cruelest of entrapments, allowing the preseason suppositions, coupled with a penchant for early-season overreactions, to make us believe that Coastal Chaos was finally thwarted.

I think the Coastal Chaos thing is pretty stupid, honestly. Sure, there's no elite team most years, but that doesn't mean things are unpredictable:

2005: Virginia Tech
2006: Georgia Tech
2007: Virginia Tech
2008: Virginia Tech
2009: Georgia Tech*
2010: Virginia Tech
2011: Virginia Tech
2012: Georgia Tech
2013: Duke
2014: Georgia Tech

That doesn't look particularly chaotic to me. In fact, that's gotta be one of the most predictable divisions in CFB.

Link to where they discredit themselves for ranking Auburn, Arkansas and Tennessee so highly?

The SEC is experiencing that woes of having parity in their conference this year. It is great to hear the chaos from the outside.

Is Duke the new VT?

No, they are the new GT. We are the new VT which is why we öööö the bed out of conference. Enjoy the end of year win over our instate rival, bowl victory, post season hype, and falling on our face to start next year.

I'll take it.

EDIT: does that mean VPI is the new Duke?

The Coastal doesn't even have 2 conference game played???

wtf?

If the above line in bold was guaranteed, I'd take it every year.

So Miami is the new Pitt, and vice versa? Boats and ho's on the river baby!

What a wacky, whimsical division we play in. Week in, week out, some of the teams lose and some of them win - especially when the teams are playing against each other. In one game you might see a coastal team throw a 12 yard touchdown pass and then later in the day another coastal team will fumble a ball, throw an incompletion or some other insane thing. And then when the regular season is over there's no guarantee that the exact same team will win the division every single year. It's silly, more of a circus than a conference. They should just rename the divisions, ACC Plucky and ACC Seussian.

It's a meat grinder schedule in the toughest division of the toughest conference in college football. This makes Duke a quality loss, so I'm surprised we dropped out of the rankings. It must be the pollsters don't actually want the best four teams in the playoffs. After watching the film on Notre Dame, the only reason I see we lost that game was because we were looking ahead to Duke and the gauntlet that is the ACC Coastal. Man for man against Duke, we passed the eye test. Duke's Cash had a heckuva day, be he is not uncommon for top ACC athletes. We win 9 out of 10 times.
