Both are short, mobile, played since their freshman year.
Hawkins in 4th all time in passing yards at Colorado. I've always thought he would eventually be good. Just watching the game tonight though, he reminds me of Reggie Ball a bit.
I know Reggie is up there in passing yards all time at Tech, because he started since day one similar to Hawkins.
Idk, similarities just caught my eye.

No one is like Reggie Ball. That's because no coach in the history of college football stubbornly played a safety for 4 years straight at the QB position. There is no comparison. Chan Gailey should never get another job again as anything to do with offense pertaining to football because of his failure to develop or recruit a QB in 7 years at GT.

Taylor Bennett was a nice kid, but he was a complete abortion as a QB.

Watching that game tonight, I can't felp but feel sorry for WVU for how Rich Rod screwed his alma mater.

Their loss to Auburn was due to a lack of fundamentals. They're headed that way tonight for the same reason.

It has looked like a cripple fight so far. Neither team can capitalize on anything. Two missed field goals and two dropped fumbles.

Cody Hawkins : Reggie Ball :: Dan Hawkins : Chan Gailey

Josh Nesbitt is a Gailey recruit.

A safety? His strength would have been as a punt returner.

The biggest difference between Cody Hawkins and Reggie Ball is that Reggie never threw so many interceptions that his daddy ended up on the coaching hot seat. I would take Reggie over Cody any day, and twice on Saturday. Colorado fans must we hoping that once Cody graduates that daddy will get a decent quarterback.

Man, we love to throw guys under the bus here!

Reggie, love him or hate him, gave 4 years to GA Tech football, and did his best all four years. We had no one who could take the job away from him. Recruiting was the biggest issue with Gailey for most of his tenure.

Yea, I remember all of you bitches whining when Reggie beat Auburn twice, beat Clemson on a perfectly placed pass to Cavin, started our streak against DA U and all the other great games he had. Without him, GT would have been lucky to win 3 freakin' games a year after flunkgate.

Hell, he tried to put this team on his back against UGAg after the 51-7 debacle that he WAS NOT a part of.

Whiners.

No kidding... Not sure why it's so commonly accepted by Tech fans to bash certain ex student-athletes.

Are you implying that Chan was his daddy and thats why he got to play for 4 years despite poor performance at times?

Sorry for getting people's panties in a wad. I'm not bashing Reggie. I'm glad he gave it his all at GT and I'm glad he spent four years here. My problem is with his coach who kept putting him in a no win situation. Reggie would have been an All American Strong Safety.

Taylor Bennett is a nice guy too, but he made a horrendous QB. That's not bashing that's a common belief. I blame the coach who put him in that situation. LA Tech found out the same thing shortly thereafter.

If we can't have discussion on this board that is like sitting at your typical tailgate, why have Stingtalk? Lets throw the name "The Hive" up at the top and post like we're all walking on eggshells trying not to offend someone.
