Charles Perkins, who has verbally committed to Georgia Tech, has 137 carries for 1,003 yards and nine touchdowns this season (per AJC).

This averages to 7.3 yards per carry. Mr. Perkins, as we all know, is entering Tech early to jump-start his career on the Flats. The fan base is excited for you and about you Mr. Perkins.

Saw Perkins go for 204 yards against North Forsyth last friday night. He basically took over and controlled the game after the Collins Hill QB was knocked out of the game late in the first half.

While some studies have been done, HS football stats are too unreliable to apply any model which might project future performance or even allow for comparisons to established collegiate players.

The source of the unreliability is largely attributable to the number of different variables, such as the quality of your offensive line, playcalling, etc etc.

The money's in the model to predict how collegiate players would perform in the NFL, and clearly no one's got that one down yet, so I wouldn't expect much progress on that.

The opposing D's, too probably plays a HUGE part. Obviously defense gets tougher from high school to college to NFL.

According to Ramblin wreck website on Marcus Wright:

Rushed for a San Antonio city record of 3,374 yards on 359 carries and scored 45 touchdowns last season as a senior... had at least one carry of 70-plus yards in eight consecutive games.

I think #3 is a great blocker and will do good things for Tech's rushing game.

This is just an idea of HS and college comparison - we all know there isn't a college RB that will ever hit those kind of stats.

Hopefully his high school coach doesn't run him into the ground with a ton of carries. But he's young so he can probably take the load and recover in time for spring practice at Tech.

7 YPC or more is about what you want to see. 7.3 is not bad. Now if it were 5, then I'd be worried.

I was at last week's game against North Forsyth, I pleased to know we had him. Although the kid at Peachtree is a horse too but he chose Vandy. Good to see kids pick schools that offer education too!
