We are going to find out first hand if Deion is a Division 1 football coach…

(I am happy with Key, just a point.)

Yes, that is when we play them. Now that this fact is established, there's nothing to talk about for 2.5 more years.

Well it's a good thing Brent Key ain't no Ted Turner.

We're going to drive the bison back to near extinction.

Sanders, if successful at Colorado, will be at aTm or Texas or Mississippi State or some other SEC school within 4 seasons.

Hearing a coach blatantly tell a room full of players that they better leave isn’t something that happens too often. While it’s hard to imagine the entire returning team opts to transfer elsewhere, Sanders’ speech on Sunday is sure to have pushed at least a few players who were on the fence over the edge.

He also all but assured that Shedeur, his son and current Jackson State quarterback, will be leading the team next fall.

I wonder how many Colorado fans are having second thoughts about Sanders already.

New Colorado coach Deion Sanders tells current Buffaloes players to enter transfer portal (yahoo.com)

Colorado AD Rick George was asked how CU came up with the money to hire Deion Sanders. He said, "We don't have the money yet, but I know we'll have it, so I'm not worried about that piece."

This will either be a huge success or a colossal disaster.

Looking at his schedule next season, 4 wins tops. We will see how long that money keeps rolling in when he is below .500 for a couple seasons.

He would’ve been such a terrible get

Colorado's AD has already gone on record saying they don't have the money they agreed to pay Sanders. That's $5M/yr. Then they need a similar amount (another 5-6M/yr) for a quality staff. Then they need that amount again for a recruiting budget. Now even if CO has the boosters needed to cough up $15M/yr, the problem is that the boosters also have to supply the NIL money so even tho the NIL is not included in the Athletic Department budget, it kind of is because it comes from boosters so effectively reduces donations by a similar amount. IOW, if I'm Mr. Big booster at CO (or anywhere else for that matter), I have X dollars to support my team. I can either donate it directly or, at the direction of the AD, use it to fund NIL but its still only X dollars.

So, ultimately, I think CO just bought a house they cannot afford to pay for. I could actually believe this would work at a big SEC/B1G/PAC12 school but I don't see this working at Colorado.

The other schools in Colorado's schedule are all going to circle their game against the Buffs - they already have a bullseye on their back.

Here is how I think this will play out - Sanders will demonstrate that he is up for the job of running a P5 program but will be budget constrained and leave Colorado for a much wealthier school that can finance Sanders vision of how to build a top tier program. I think Sanders is going to be very successful but not at Colorado.

My gut says that one way or another (successful and hired away or flames out and maybe takes the program down with him), Deion won’t still be at Colorado when we play them.

They won’t be able to fire him if he flames out. So I think you’re wrong

Hiring, and firing, Collins assured we couldn't afford Sanders. Tech just couldn't take the risk that he crashes and another big contract had to be paid out. High ceiling but we couldn't afford the floor.

Deion is too concerned with how his youtube and twitter hits are, much like our last clown. I know I wouldn't have my kid there. Going into your first team meeting and telling them to get gone is an idiotic and narcissistic move (filming it) If some of the players need to leave, that is best communicated privately with reasons why. Introducing your son and naming him the starting qb is also arrogant. I suppose he intends to get his entire roster reloaded through the portal, and that is quite naive. I'd say he needs a dose of understanding that this is not the NFL, and you need to build some consensus. Glad this jerk isn't at Georgia Tech.

IMO, we need to be scouting Colorado and see who we need. If any of the players we determine we would like to have hit the portal, we need to send an offer.
