Comcast CSSHD 805

Anyone with Comcast ATL have 805 working? I'm just getting a black screen. I get the SD channel 45 fine.
 
I setup my DVR last night to record the game and channel 805 wasn't even listed on the onscreen menu. However Channel 802 was showing the game at 7:30. So I set the DVR to record channel 802...we'll see what happens.

I noticed a few weeks ago while watching football on a Sat that Channel 802 doesn't seem to always broadcast, but they were showing football that Sat. I believe it was the Vandy game and it looked like I was watching a high school broadcast
 
Hmm. This is strange. I typically watch HD on my TivoHD box that uses cable cards. It says I have 805 as a channel, but getting the black screen. I also have a Comcast dvr box upstairs that I don't use often. I just went up there and checked; it doesn't even list 805. Comcast website says I should have 805.

I called Comcast and they said I should have it, but depending on area it may not be available yet...

Anyone in the Smyrna/Vinings/Mableton area have CSSHD?
 
I'll check when I get home. I know we (Woodstock) recently added a ton of new HD channels, CSSHD may have been one of them.

When I checked last night, my guide was showing our game for channel 802. Channel 805 did not even show up on the guide. But I believe that 805 is one of those channels that they can turn on or off for special programming. So if they use that channel it may not appear until Saturday. I would check it out then if you can.

If all else fails, you can watch the SD version (boo) on channel 45.
 
Set to record on 802. I think it was listed as WPCH...kinda strange. It typically won't let me record on the channel if I don't have access...
 
I've noticed the last two weeks that 805 does not show up until the game, and then it works. Not sure about 802, but I think that is usually linked to channel 7 (when the Braves are on Peachtree TV, it shows up in HD on 802). Hope this helps, although if your DVR doesn't tape the game, do not blame me. This is similar to how channel 848 will say off-air but then something is on.
 
i had heard an ad for channel 805 earlier this week but when i went to set up my dvr it said it was on 802 so thats set to record....either way, I WILL see the game.
 
i also set up 802 to record, but i saw a billboard on the way home that said GT vs. MSU on comcast channel 45 or 805 in HD
 
805 is showing up on the guide now at my house, though all the program is TBD and it is giving me the rainbow screen. The game is still displayed on the guide on channel 802.
Just hoping I can watch UGA lose and Tech win in HD tomorrow...topped off with a healthy serving of Octoberfest...thats not asking too much is it?
 
805 for me. Blank screen but the guide has our game at 730, with every other time slot blank.

FWIW, this is also how 848 works for FSNHD. If there's some sporting event (Braves game, CFB, etc) it comes on and shows the game in HD, but the rest of the time is just a testing screen.

I'm basically willing to guarantee that it will come on in HD.
 
Anybody know if 805 is Clear QAM? I have a HTPC (SageTV with a SiliconDust HDHR) and can only record the clear QAM channels. I actually get CSS on 45, but I've never been able to pick up 805 in a scan (although I do get 802 and 808). I'm not going to be home at the beginning of the game, otherwise I'd just do a quick scan at gametime to see if it's coming through.
