Concern from the Dook game...

Duke did a good job of stopping the option, but they had to sell out to do it and we burned them for it. But most haven't mentioned the quick tosses left and right against a tiring Duke defense. This was effective against a tired Duke defense.

Duke's stategy was a good gambit. If Jaybo had gotten rattled and thrown an interception or two it may have worked. Jaybo had to come out of the comfort of the option and make some throws. He did it very well along with the wonderful help of Bebe.

Miss State was a more physical, attacking defense. They seemed to think they could contain the 3O with speed and athleticism. Bad choice. Duke did a better job and got a better result until they simply wore out and got burned.

But they're in the SEC, where they have speed AND STRENGTH.

NOTHING CAN COMPETE WITH SPEED AND STRENGTH!

Yeah maybe... But, remember that was Miss state the SEC's little brother. I don't think their defense will be quite as fast as Ugays or an LSU or Florida... That being said I love the heart out of CPJ he's putting in this team. You can see the passion in this team, I've watched some UGay games and I think we have more fight in our team

They have speed AND STRENGTH. The option CANNOT WORK AGAINST THEM.

They're in the SEC!!

They held Auburn to THREE POINTS!!!!!11!1!1!!!!1!!!1one!!!eleventyone!

Agreed on Duke selling out on the outside. I was surprised we didn't run the counter option more, seems like that would have been effective numbers-wise.

In spite of that, Duke was still getting some pretty good penetration around the tackles, it wasn't just a matter of flying the LBs to the outside.

They guarded the counter option well, truth be told. We needed to run the inside veer more, is my guess, but I only saw tape tonight, so I'm not exactly sure.

I watched the replay and Duke didn't stop anything. They were getting driven on all game.

If that's causes concern, I bet you were having a heart attack in the Chan era.

I'm just glad that even after a 27-0 victory, Coach Johnson is still pissed off. I think the last guy would have been pleased with himself.
