Conference....."bias"

If you watched the 4th quarter of the UNC - UGA game a couple of weeks ago, the officiating was mind boggling. I didn't understand why B10 officials would care one way or the other until the 'no championship games in North Carolina' thing erupted. The officiating was so biased even the announcers starting making comments.

If we lose, there will be many, many people to blameshift our butthurt towards. PJ, Roof, the media, the cheerleaders, Harambe...

But Harambe thinks Klimpsun will bite the bullet as GT has a shot.

The game tying field goal they came over the top, too. They missed a block by about an inch or two. Wasn't called.

I wonder how often that happens and how often it actually gets called.

Oklahoma State says hello. Also a few years back when Nebraska was denied the Big 12 title because they were leaving.

The problem with that argument is that there are plenty of truly egregious calls in games that are inconsequential to league offices too. Such as missing a field goal call (lol ACC.)

Should we view terrible calls as being on purpose if it benefits the league and just incompetence if not?

I have seen it called a few times but it is rare. It is a 15yd penalty and automatic 1st down so it really isn't worth the risk of trying it.

I never like the whole preemptive butthurt about officiating. The only time I ever feel there's merit to that is when we're facing UGA, because save for the Jasper Sanks game, I honestly can't remember a game where we've come out on the better end of the officiating against them.

Flag game, Reggie's fumble that should have been blown dead where ref's helped UGAg recover the ball, JT5's non fumble after he scored a TD that was returned for a bogus TD, UGAg receiver throwing aside a GT defender near halftime in the endzone on a pass from Stafford- was called P.I. on GT (even the announcers were calling it UGAg PI), the touchback in 2009 north endzone....shit....UGAg gets a lot of calls going their way

All of those things were BS but at the same time we just gotta play better against them if want to win more often. In the '14 game we had the ball on the UGA 27, up 21-17 with about 4 min left and totally ööööed it up. We had plenty of öööö ups in those other games too.

Harambe wishes that kid had fallen into the Clemson tiger's cage.
