Conference Expansion 2016

Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech and UT would probably group together to block Houston. (if there was an expansion)

You may be right, but I think that'd be a bad idea. Houston is more committed to football than any other G5 team, by a long long shot. That's the kind of stuff that makes a conference strong.

and Houston is much larger than Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech....maybe as big as the three combined if you count the University of Houston umbrella

SWC is BACK baby...almost.

Houston is a heavy commuter school, though. Commuting students tend to have less spirit and a lower propensity to attend events than boarding students. It's the same problem Georgia State faces despite 50% more students than Georgia Tech.

Nobody's gonna mention the mention of the ACC wanting to add ND and split into 3 divisions?

It it is really as much about markets as we have been told, Houston is out and Cincy and Colorado State are very in play. A wild card could be the Cal State schools (SD, SJ, or Fresno).

If it is less about markets (I tend to think it is), Houston has a shot.

And if the Big 12 rejects BYU they have gone full retart.

We gotta wait for ND to go undefeated or have 1 loss and somehow get left out of the playoff before they join the ACC.

Go to 16 teams in the ACC and have 4 pods (let's say, North, South, East, West). At the start of the season, pair four pods into two divisions (North-South and East-West) and every team plays every other team in the division. Division champions play for the conference championship. Every other year, change the pod pairing (North-West and South-East).

Or just announce that the ACC will realign conferences every 2 years.

Don't want the thread to turn in to a series of lists as everyone plays fantasy conference alignment with the ACC. I think we have about covered it all by now. Bigcry.

And, sadly, the "leadership" of the ACC is gutless and unimaginative enough to indeed take the "we gotta wait" attitude regarding n.d.

Initiative, resourcefulness, foresight take courage and work.

Swofford loves to suck it and lay around until puke & unc tell him what to do.

Anybody that's not talking regional is out of their mind. West Virginia in the Big 8 or wherever? That's crazy. Conferences should be regional for more reason than one. Travel is the first thing. Do the math. What we have is stupid people that don't understand common sense trying to fix things that don't need fixing. Tech, FSU and Clemson belong in the SEC. That's obvious. The Carolina schools are what the ACC is all about and always has been. Those folks don't give the first öööö besides Wake Forest having a homecoming against NC State. But nobody's going to say anything about it.

It will never happen, but this would be awesome

East: Clemson, FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh
West: Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, Louisville

Of course, this has the SEC grabbing VT and NC State for some reason - I am supposing due to shitty academics. If I were gonna grab an ACC school in Virginia, it would be UVA. I would also grab UNC before grabbing NC State.

I no longer have ESPN.

It appears that this is similar to the housing bubble for ESPN. They have overpaid for content expecting big returns. I just got tired of paying over $100 for TV every month.

There has been about 3 million + that have done the same
Wish I could. No other options where I live.

we need a website with a "Re-align" button that lets you scramble the teams at random or use statistics such as wins to group them

get to it, computer nerds!
