I have dinner reservations for 7:30 Sat night (made by friends before the game time was announced). I can't really get out of it but I know I probably should - I'll be a pain in the ass because I'll be nervous about the game (no different than any game) multiplied by the fact that I have no idea what will be going on.

I can't remember the last time that I either couldn't attend or watch/listen to a game live.

Rats! I hate it for ya, big guy. Just keep thinking "Tis a far, far better thing I do..." Hope y'all have a good time anyway.

I was in a wedding Saturday night. I must have hit the refresh button on my phone 200 times over a 3 hour period while GT was playing in Starkville. I'm sure my constant score checking was annoying and rude, but here's how I look at it:

1) Those who love me understand, and they want me to be happy.
2) F everyone else.

Wait. You were IN a wedding? As in standing up there during the ceremony? If so, you would definitely be elevated to hero-status around here if you were actually checking DURING the ceremony.

If you have a phone with internet on it, you can just keep looking at the scores on your phone. If not, you should ask someone here to keep texting you the score/happenings of the game. I'm sure someone will do it.

Absolutely. You showed your priorities by scheduling anything at all on a Saturday. Now you're just getting your comeuppance.

Though I hate it for you bro...

I would reschedule, but I also am lucky enough to have a wife who is cool about that kind of stuff.

There's no two ways about it. You ARE a pussy, but we're here to help.

Some advice....

Call the restaurant tomorrow. Ask them if they can change the reservations to 6:30 and completely cancel the other reservation.

Wait until Thursday to tell anyone of the changes u made.

If ur that damned worried about it...apologize for making the changes and offer to pay for everyone's dinner.

You're welcome...now go make your wife a sandwhich.

Better yet, go to the restaurant and slip the host/hostess a $20 to call your friend and say "we have overbooked the 7:30, but we have a 6:00/6:30 available. Would it be ok if I switched you to that?" Then pray the place is crowded when you get there.

Just go to an upscale sports bar and pay for dinner.

Hate to say it, but 99% of the sets in any sports bar or restaurant are likely to have the LSU/Florida game on. Sucks for us, but that game is at the same time as ours.

Why can't you change the time, reschedule or just call in sick? Are the friends not football fans or what?

I have [a confession to make]

Yes, my son.

For your penance, thou shalt sing 10 Ramblin Wrecks, proclaim 5 To HELL with Georgias and go 3 weeks without eating at the V.

Now, go and sin no more.

Maybe you'll get lucky, catch the swine flu and get out of going.

Now, go kiss some pigs.
