Cord cutters

I have suck Cox and they will not be carrying the ACC Network which pisses me off. Will be missing a lot of Tech games this season if I don’t find a solution!
 
Hulutv or youtubetv

All the sports channels and both only 40 a month or so

Cut my direct a few months ago and dont even know its gone. Except paying 130 a month less.

You paid $170 a month for DirecTV? I don’t think you are getting the same level of service from YTTV. I do like YTTV though, was going to go with them but DTV offered me a really good deal so I’m sticking it out for awhile.

I was too. And it turns out that I don’t miss anything about it. I’ve found that our tv watching has changed to watching for purpose rather than just having the tv on whatever dumb show about flipping houses, buildings pools, or investigation discovery that my wife would land on while flipping channels.

Yes. Because when u factor in all the extra boxes i had, dvr fees, just bs fee on top of bs fee it added up to close to that.

I have way less channels. But i dont even know they are gone. And the dvr function is not as seemless as dtv was. But i get all the sports, all the channels we care about and its totally worth it.....

I have four boxes but I don’t have any packages like HBO. I think I was paying about $125 before and now it is less than $80 with their retention discounts.

Add hbo and you are at $140 a month.

We had digital sports package, hbo, and the whole home genie system. It was close to $200 per month. When I told them I was leaving the best deal they wanted to give me was $125 but it cut out my sports and hbo. I told them to get bent and send a box for the receivers and remotes and haven’t looked back.

I get all of my sports channels now. I use amazon channels for premium channels and have them month to month based upon what series is currently running (hbo currently for GoT and Chernobyl. It will switch to Starz for whatever dumb time travel show my wife watches). The only way I’d go back to cable or satellite is if the stream model becomes like those things.
 
I cut the cord about 8 mos. back, after study decided on YouTube TV and been happy, they're raising their price next mo. $10.00 to $50.00. I found I needed Roku for my TV with YTTV. Like many on here I found I did not need all those other channels, I now turn on TV or tablet for specific things. If they do not carry ACCN then I'm sure I will change, it's mo. to mo. Love to get in front of tv for a Gt game and have my tablet where I can watch other games along with GT or if I need to go to kitchen just take GT game with me on tablet. There are trade offs IMO cutting the cord, but I'm happy with current setup.
 
1) Some of you were paying entirely too much for cable in the first place. I've never even approached some of the prices you guys have mentioned.
2) These providers are basically just internet-served cable packages.

I'm not saying they're bad or anything but the mindset that people are getting away from "cable" is laughable.

1) we had no options in my area before and they knew it. For me it was either Comcast or DirecTV/Dish. For me to get any decent sports coverage, I was having to add packages that were $$$. Then DirectTV switched to whole whole genie dvr and that added a good charge per month.

2) yes and no. I’m not bound to them for any term like I was cable or satellite. If my provider gets into a carriage dispute with someone (say ACCN), I drop them and go elsewhere. I was at the mercy of DirectTV before.

Well, at any rate, we're all laughing at the companies that still want 2 year contracts and have to run physical wires through your house and yard to give you TV service that you can't use outside your home. I'm sure they are laughing right back at us because anywhere we have an internet connection, on any device, we can just punch in a short URL and start watching or recording whatever we want. We sure are suckers.

You have to login in your home region every 3 or 4 months to keep your local channels, a vpn or a trip home should keep you in good shape.

I'm on Playstation Vue and have been thinking about flipping to YouTube Tv. What are the key benefits of Youtube Tv over Vue in your experience?
