Props to adidas. It appears that the gold on our jerseys is actually pretty close to the gold on the helmets. After years of russell, it seemed odd that the unis didn't have at least 4 different shades.

I feel like the gold on the helmets this year is too light. Even in the picture above, it looks like there's two different shades of gold. One is much darker than the others. If the goal was to match the gold of the wreck then they failed. Last year's gold helmet was much better. I do like the 3D "Jackets" text on the back of the helmets tho. One other thing I did not like seeing all the solder pads on the players. I've always felt like Adidas uniforms were cut to high and tight is showed yesterday. To be honest the Russell uniform's fit looked better but I understand that they probably sucked to play in.

It's never going to be a perfect match as you're matching a flat textile to a metallic paint; it's simply not possible. But the attempts by Russell just look odd in comparison:

And those are the correct yella britches.
I agree.

The helmets are too light; the tv announcers actually called them white early in the game. In a full sun, the team looked washed out on tv. We were hoping the acc network would adjust the contrast.
Lastly the tight stretch unis can look awkward at times. The number 4 in particular was often stretched silly.

ITT you will see how we will go from a relatively classic look with our new apparel provider to garbage uniforms with never ending patterns. It’ll happen in 5 years because there will be incessant bitching.

My only negative is that the names on the back of the jersey still look really strange to me. Weird font looks weird.

How can you be wrong on every point you attempted to make?

Just look below. The images are from the Pitt game last year. Noon game with similar lighting as the Alcorn State game. The

If you think the helmet and pants match in this picture you're crazy. Plus the metallic Tech Gold is darker than the standard Tech Gold. The helmets last year are closer to the gold of the wreck.

last years uniforms looked much better, more traditional.

The helmet this year is too pale, offering no contrast to the white GT insignia, rendering it illegible.

The beige jersey numerals are virtually unreadable on the white jersey. Need to go back to navy/black numbers. Didn't we go through this back in 2011 when Tech opened the season wearing gold numerals on the white jerseys versus Western Carolina? Everyone complained and Tech went back to navy numbers by the next game. Also, the sleeve stripes are messed up and look like hell. Shoulder numbers missing as well. Name font on back of jersey looks unprofessional. Anyone notice the numerals font are the same as Wake Forest?

The stripes on the pants look like a birth defect. Bring back the traditional black/white/black stripes that were worn the last two years. Russell finally gets it right in 2016 and 2017, and Tech promptly tells Addidas to trash our classic look. The same thing happened back in 2008 when Russell was told to discard Tech's classic uniform look.

Overall, last years uniforms looked much better. Tech should have instructed Addidas to copy last years traditional template IMHO.

They do need to go to dark numbers or a thicker outline of the numbers. It was difficult trying to figure who was on the game.
